@Theleftorwright @SnowPunn Transwomen cant be women, or understand women, or relate to women. They can act the stereotypes, but they are not, will not, ever be women. As a former spouse of an abusive AGP trans person, I am absolutely an expert on domestic violence perpetrated by AGP spouses.

That is completely false. You really really need a primer on feminism. First of all men don't magically become women. That's not how any of that works. Trans people do not undercut the rights of women, or our identity as women. Feminism rejects the anti-trans hate movement. It's a patriarchal, right-wing, hate movement that harms all women. No. As a feminist who's been working for women and minorities for over 30 years, I know exactly what I'm talking about, and I know I'm right. Now, go educate yourself.

No. This is absolutely false, and we've proven that over the years. This comes from not understanding women and not understanding feminism. No one trans is in the patriarchy. No one in LGBT is a member of patriarchy. These women continue to harm women with their anti-trans rhetoric, and it has already aimed more violence at c1s women. Which is exactly what feminists such as myself, and many others said 10 years ago, when gullible idiots started down the path of the anti-trans hate movement.
M J Ross - Opinionated Aboriginal@fieldnoting

Trans is the ultimate expression of patriarchal power and oppression of women. Men co-opting women's identities, language and spaces. Men then telling women who is a woman and who is not, and gatekeeping our lives, spaces and language.

@themamabun @Karen3267084417 @Housey101 It was about the right to say no to a man, if I dont want a man near me, for any reason, i should be able to say so & no. You can not legislate for people to believe that men can become women. Gender dysphoria is a mental health illness, treat it as such.

@Karen3267084417 @Housey101 This case had nothing to do with the definition of biological sex. The initial judgement spent considerable time explaining that. You should probably read it.

Friendly reminder that Giggle was a failing app that was approximately $600k in the hole at the time that serious security flaws were discovered. One could argue that a crowdfunded court case necessitating pulling the app and a new career as a GC podcaster might be a bit of a lifeline to someone in a situation where they could hypothetically have been sued for damages by eg a class action suit in the foreseeable future.

@pcet2022 @SkyNewsAust You mean cases where a woman like Sall Grover is deprived of her income by an aggressive man in a dress? Sall Grover doesn't need to TALK about women's unemployment. She defends women's rights so that women can fight to improve their living conditions in every aspect.

Wonderfully clear ruling- that anyone is entitled to hold privately transphobic views, but to repeatedly misgender someone on the basis of those views is 'gratuitous, disrespectful and unnecessary', and did not advance the defense. A win for basic manners. 👏🏳️‍⚧️

In the light of the recent Australian court ruling that it was ‘discriminatory’ to exclude a transexual man from a social app for females, I’m wondering what Australian women are to do now if they want to meet without being prosecuted, and financially penalised, for excluding certain men from ‘women-only’ events? As I see it, they now have three options: 1. Accept the court ruling and avoid charges of “gender identity discrimination” by allowing transexual men full access to, and full participation in, all female gatherings. 2. Abandon organising any future ‘women-only’ meetings - held for social, professional or political reasons - where transexual men could, under threat of prosecution. demand access. 3. Given that they’re now illicit in Australia, organise clandestine ‘women-only’ meetings. There’s a rich tradition of secret societies in Europe and elsewhere. Perhaps they need to be revived in Australia? Private women’s networks will need to be established; attendees agreeing to keep schtum; secretive alerts being sent, etc. None of these options are good for a healthy, democratic society, in particular for the female members of that society. What’s needed is for Australian legislators to change the law to vindicate women’s right to meet, independently of men. Women’s rights are, to coin a phrase, human rights.

In Australia, if you want to go into women’s spaces all you’ve got to do is make an effort to look like a woman (and what does that involve? Lipstick, a dress, a wig?) and say you’re a woman. No one can stop you, it’s the law, and if they try, it’ll be discrimination. And the best bit: once you take it all off you can become a man again. If @AlboMP doesn’t find that insane, then he’s probably insane. Even worse, if he doesn’t act on it, and quickly, he’s handing this issue to the opposition parties on a plate. This is now a hot political issue, and can no longer be written off as culture war trivia (not that cultural issues are trivial anyway).

Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg’s silence on the Giggle v Tickle court decision is deafening. While women’s-only spaces are under attack from transgender ideology, he’s said nothing. Whether it’s protecting women’s spaces or children from gender surgery, Senator Bragg and his fellow party members have always taken the side of radical trans ideology. This kind of weakness in the Liberal party is why they never fixed the law in their 9 years in government. The Liberal party didn’t fix it then, and they can’t be trusted to fix it now. One Nation will again move legislation to amend the Sexual Discrimination Act and ensure women can enjoy safe spaces and sports that exclude biological men.

@AnnaMorriss67 @Theblackfemini3 No you wont, you just need to say you are a man/woman (whichever suits) as the now new interpretation of a woman is "anyone who looks like a man, could be a woman, so dont discriminate & dont challenge"

🚨 BREAKING: A first term Coalition Government will fix the Sex Discrimination Act. Women and girls deserve to have their rights to sports, spaces and services protected at law.
Senator the Hon. Michaelia Cash@SenatorCash

STATEMENT BY @AngusTaylorMP Yesterday the Full Federal Court confirmed that Australian law does not properly protect single sex spaces for women and girls. Most Australians would find that hard to believe. A coalition government I lead will fix this. We will amend the Sex Discrimination Act to ensure that women and girls (and men and boys) have protections based on biological sex. We will define biological sex in the Act. Male or female. The sex you are born. And we will protect single-sex spaces across Australian life. This is not radical. It is common sense. Let me be clear about what this is not. This is not about targeting transgender Australians. Every protection they currently have remains. We are not removing a single protection from anyone. But we are recognising something that should never have been in doubt: biological sex is real, it matters, and women and girls deserve spaces where it is respected. This will be a first-term priority. The Prime Minister now has a simple question to answer. Does he believe women and girls deserve protections based on biological sex?
