@GVMERGG @Shadarek You are getting "fucked randomly betting on statistical probability" either way (e.g. "wow i full cleared LFR/N/H and got zero drops!"), you're just more aware of it in one instance than the other.

Most people would rather get the guaranteed 4 item drop every time than get fucked randomly betting on statistical probability. It’s just something you don’t have to deal with if you don’t want to. Nobodies going into raids at any serious competitive level with anyone locked. It just doesn’t make sense to gamble like that.

I wish I had a way to explain why somebody being loot locked in your run isn't 'stealing your loot' but god people are bullheaded about it. You add 5 people to a raid who don't roll an item and also can't roll on items, it's the exact same on average.

Just in case you’re not trolling: 2/4/14 for instance. 4 pieces of loot if no one’s locked. Just 1 person being locked reduces the loot to possibly just 3 pieces. That’s not “5 ppl not rolling”… that’s 1 person not rolling and now the other 4ppl also only getting to roll on the 3 pieces of gear along with the rest of the raid. Even worse if the drops are all one armor type, etc.

@CefaiJason @jdotb If you're grinding normal or heroic dungeons you're doing something wrong. Hit 90, grab renown gear, do weeklies, and a few wqs and it's hard not to be at least 225, which is more than enough to walk into m0.

@jdotb i dont understand why you even bother playing the game. 4-6 hrs to max level, story is time gated, only game play left is to grind norm dungeons to get in to heroic grind the same dungeons at heroic to get in to mythic then grind the same dungeons at mythic to get in to raids.

I just genuinely don't understand how you can have a beta up for several months and then need to buff/nerf specs by 20% after launch

i mean it happened two times in the last 50 years and there are ~1300 NBA games per year and it's probably within 1-2 magnitudes of the observed rate. I have no idea how often it happens across other professional baskeball leagues in the world or college. I don't want to be too confident, but I don't see how one could get past 10^-8 if at all

Bayern Munich are bigger than any NFL team. Munich is a very wealthy city and they have over 400,000 members, yet their season tickets start at €175. That's less than the cost of attending a single NFL game. People like this will never get it.

I'm aware of the continued bar problems in midnight raid testing. The way blizzard is queuing bars borders on idiocy and gonna require a significant rewrite of how DBM handles bars to process it better. (Blizzard is basically sending ALL the fight bars at once. so for 8 min boss they just send 8 min of timers ALL AT ONCE, including every spell recast). Boss being tested now is probably sending about 50 bars on combat start. DBM is going to need to process all the bars at once, but then only show bars < 60 seconds or some user defined window. It'll be done before midnight but probably not for next round of raid testing.

Blue Origin applied for only 23 H-1Bs in 2022-2024. Less than 8 per year. They hire almost 100% American, because defense contractors are heavily restricted from employing visa-holders. And it works. We have the people. We have the talent. But companies want cheaper labour.

@ja3k_ I've learned that it's a good idea to have an open ended interview question that can't be answered completely because it's the only way you can tell how good the candidate actually is If you ask a bunch of Qs and they 100% answer them all you don't get to see their upper limit

Just answered an algo interview question in 10m which the interviewer clearly thought would take the whole time. Then he pulled out another question which I ultimately failed to solve and he said "Don't worry I've never seen someone solve it and don't know how"

@gaysodalover I’m in that boat too. Feels like if ur not 740 (im 700) then you won’t get invited even though 700s and even lower ilvl could easily do the raid and dungeon content. Already collected all the bronze I needed for the mounts, which is what got me to play itfp. FOMO from MOP remix.

@fredricokt @BigWigsWoW Its data wow will display in midnight and they are just reskinning that information. This is the part that blizzard is changing on their end, It's not just about turning off combat addons. It will be worse in all timelines but they have to give players SOME info.

In Midnight, we plan to have our own customizable timeline, and you can choose between that or bars.
