I don’t think the younger generation understands that Sushi wasn’t really a thing in America in the early 90’s. I don’t remember even seeing a sushi restaurant till I was like 12 or 13.

Loved the fact that various Oscar bits and clips "spoiled" the endings of ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER and WEAPONS and other films last night. It was almost like the show had finally stopped worrying about appealing to people who don't bother to watch the movies. vulture.com/article/the-20…

Someone donated old compilations of newspapers from Kansas City from the 20s and 30s to the library once and the best part was going through the movie ads, especially the ones from the 20s because the ads included plenty of films that are just straight up lost now
