India has officially hit the global Top 6 for patent filings. From 49,916 in FY 2015-16 to 1,43,729 in FY 2025-26, patent filings have seen strong growth. Over 69 per cent of these filings come from domestic innovators, reflecting the strength of a growing innovation ecosystem. A clear shift towards an Aatmanirbhar and knowledge-driven India is underway, where ideas are being created, owned, and scaled at home.
