I don't think you realize how tyrannical 15 minute cities actually is. In Oxford, they will divide the city into six zones. Drivers must apply for a permit to be allowed to drive outside their designated zone. A permit grants a ration of 100 free travel days per year. If you exceed your driving ration, you will be fined. The whole idea is to enc people to stay inside their zones and not drive their car much. Just like the Soviet Union.

Can @JourneysPlaces explain why there is a massive and I mean massive increase on Powys lane post LTN ? The council were infiltrated by the LCC and they stated the LTN reduced vehicles using this road. Latest data they produced now show a shocking 53% increase roughly on this road where children live. Around 4341 extra vehicles passing a school per day.

Today, @CamdenCouncil, your scheme failed a frail, elderly woman in a significant way. She flagged me down at the intersection of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street, urgently needing help to pick up her elderly friend at the NatWest bank on Tottenham Court Road. What should have been a quick one-minute journey along a major thoroughfare turned into a frustrating 16-minute detour. The reality is that Tottenham Court Road does not prioritise “inclusion.” It is absurd that an accessible means of transport is prohibited from driving along one of London’s main roads. @TfL @LondonAssembly

“They weren’t listening to us, they just carried on regardless, so we thought the only thing we could do was expose what they’re up to.” 51 council employees were earning more than £100,000 in the 2024-25 financial year, representing an increase of more than a third, according to the council’s pay policy statement. The council’s gross debt by the end of March 2025 had reached more than £1bn. “They’ve got loads of money for lawyers and PR people, but not for services,” he says. “They make [things] up as they go along.” “Their version of ‘regeneration’ would mean none of us would be able to afford to stay here... and their reasons used to justify the [plan] were nonsense.
