Devastating images from Gaza, look what Israel did!! Oh never mind, this is Homs, Syria. That was done by Hezbollah and the Assad regime. But no one gave and gives a shit because all the woke leftists in the west support Hezbollah and Assad.

It's time. I'm hiring a Creative Strategist for our brand! I started my brand 2.5 years ago. We're doing $7M+ this year. Growing 150% YoY - 2 years in a row. I've handled all creative strategy myself until now. I think it's time for someone better than me to take the lead. We're NOT in health, wellness, or beauty. We're in accessories, apparel, and kids. Think identity, gifting angle. Our customer is a young woman or a young mom. If that's your world - you'll get this brand instantly. Here's what you'll own: → 6-10 net new ad concepts per month → 50+ iterations on winning ads per month → Scripts and briefs for UGC → Static ad concepts across multiple formats → Research: mining reviews, comments, and organic content for hooks and angles What we need: → 2-4 years DTC experience → European or Asian timezone → Bonus if you have experience in working w/ fashion, gifting, or kids brands Full-time. Remote. $3,800 - $4,500/month base. Comment CS and I'll DM you next steps!

Crazy what @amazon did to sellers within a month: 1) Delivery date + 7d to release payments. 2) 3.5% fuel surcharge on every shipment. 3) Retired credit card payment method for Ads (good bye 2% cashback)

It looks like Trump is dropping the MOAB bombs on Iran tonight. I can't wait to see my friends in Israel not rushing to bomb shelters anymore. I can't wait for the Straight of Hormuz to be wide open again. I can't wait for the people of Iran to be free! God bless the USA!

Life is great down here. Weather, taxes, growth. Also, it’s a true purple city. You can discuss politics and nobody will attack you. We don’t have much toxic leftists down here and DeSantis has been doing a great job to shield us from the crazyness in other states (CRT, gender ideology, anti-american mobs, imported gangs, etc)

I just came back from a trip to Miami. Its been a while since I have been. About 10 years. Miami feels like what a major city in Latin America would look like if everyone followed laws. (I say this as a Brazilian). Talked to a lot of folks recently moving there. It feels like Austin 5 years ago? I could not find a specific reason in particular why people are moving there. Specifically tech. Talent pool for tech is smaller than LA or Bay Area. Wondering if its just the tax situation being better? Or is there something I am missing?

Time to kill one of the biggest lies of the Century: “Israel is a parasite state living off U.S. money” Israel’s GDP ≈ $610B It spends ~5–6% of its OWN GDP on defense ~𝟑𝟔 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 fighting our common enemies. U.S. aid ≈ 𝟑.𝟖 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 on American made weapons. Facts just killed the lie.

@jameshyujinlee We haven't hired a dedicated creative strategist. And nothing is dialed in just yet haha It's a though process, but I don't think anybody else would go the extra mile to figure it out if not us.

Thanks for sharing, Jack! We started with 100% in-house and we are still doing everything ourselves. I have been holding on to the position very tightly until now but I'm beginning to feel my own bottleneck. Have you hired a creative strategist for your team? How's that going? Have you guys dialed in your processes and systems?

I think creative strategy is the single biggest bottleneck in my business right now, and I’m the one holding it. I’m not a bad marketer. But I don’t think I’m a genuinely great creative strategist. I’ve tried training someone on my team to own this. It hasn’t worked - not because they’re bad, but because this role requires a specific instinct I haven’t been able to transfer. So I’m stuck between two paths: 1.Invest the time to actually get good at this myself, build the system, then hire someone to run it. 2.Hire or bring on a fractional or full time creative strategist / small agency now, and build the system together. I’ve been going back and forth on this for a while. If you’ve been through this - either as the founder who figured it out yourself or as someone who hired for it, I’d genuinely love to hear what worked. What did the transition actually look like? And how did you know when you had the right person or system in place?

Coleman Hughes, who is quite young, already massively humiliated Dave, and it did nothing to curb his influence. I reject the premise. You don't actually know how any of this works or what's going on.
Emilio Garcia@Emilio_A_Garcia

@ConceptualJames It's incoherent for you to claim that you're smarter than people who are pushing an agenda you claim is nefarious while still refusing to debate them. You could humiliate Dave and massively degrade his influence. Do to him what he did to Douglas Murray. Why don't you do that?

After selling on Amazon for over 10 years, Amazon has suddenly decided they need to hold $56,000 of our money for chargebacks. "Amount held in reserve to ensure that you have enough funds to fulfill any claims or chargebacks." Not to beat a dead horse (and then turn it into tacos which I then eat over and over on social media), but check out how they take 50% of every dollar we sell on the platform. Add advertising into the mix and remember that something like 10-20% of our sales don't use FBA and it's really something to behold. Am I complaining? What's the point. At this point, it's just interesting. How much water can they squeeze out of a stone before the stone breaks and becomes sharp shrapnel in their hand?

Amazon is raising its fee in 3 different ways recently: 1. As correctly predicted below, they will be adding a 3.5% surcharge on shipping and fulfillment (this means the work they do in the warehouse) fees, which will of course be passed to consumers 2. Amazon is no longer allowing advertising to be paid for with a credit card. That's a ~2% increase for a fee that many sellers pay millions for yearly. 3. Amazon is paying sellers more slowly. Unclear what the reason is but this does allow them to make money on the "float". They can keep that money in interest bearing accounts while they wait to pay because they get paid by their customers before they pay their sellers. In October 2024, I made a whole presentation about how Amazon would continue to squeeze its sellers to increase its profits. Not only that, but I said that it would do it in increasingly creative ways. The more complicated the fee increase, the longer it will take sellers to pass these fees onto the consumer, but they will be passed. Sellers are mostly low or negative margin (actually) businesses, so there is mostly no room to absorb cost increases.

@herrmanndigital Brands are the piñata everyone hits. Inflation, overpriced saas tools, bad agencies, ad channels margin squeeze, chargebacks, ADA lawsuits, copycats… You name it, we’ve had to deal with it.

I have such a beef with our industry and the utter crap so many brands get dealt by the agencies that oversell and underdeliver. My inbox is full of brands stuck in long term contracts with some of the most notable DTC agencies. You’re failing your clients chasing the next shiny toy guys. Fix it or let the brands go.

You have no experience. You’ve never started a company. You’ve never had a full time job. Nike is going to kill you. You’re a kid. You don’t have technical skills. You shouldn’t build hardware. Apple is going to kill you. You can’t build hardware. You can’t measure heart rate non-invasively. Athletes don’t care about recovery. Under Armour is going to kill you. It won’t be accurate. You don’t listen. You’re an ineffective leader. You can’t recruit great talent. You’re going to have to pay every athlete. You can’t measure sleep non-invasively. It’s too expensive to research. Athletes are a small market. The product costs too much to make. The product costs too much to sell. Your valuation is too high. Consumers aren’t going to want it. Hardware is too hard. You should measure steps. Fitbit is going to kill you. You can’t build a marketing engine. You can’t raise enough money. You need a real CEO. Google is going to kill you. You can’t be a subscription. You can’t build a brand. You can’t do consumer in Boston. Your valuation is too high. You shouldn’t make accessories. You shouldn’t make apparel. Lululemon is going to kill you. You can’t predict Covid. Stay in your niche. You are going to run out of money. You can’t build a health platform. Amazon is going to kill you. You can’t measure blood pressure. You can’t get medical approvals. The market is too small. You don’t understand AI. The market is too competitive. It won’t work internationally. The supply chain is too complicated. You can’t build an AI. You can’t raise enough money. It’s too competitive. Healthcare isn’t going to want it. … Just keep going ✌️

Devastating news - the ecommerce points game is over. Amazon was the last ad platform taking credit cards. Meta moved everyone to invoicing last month. Google did it last year. Millions of $ of monthly ad spend that was earning 2% cash back - zeroed. See you guys in coach…
