I know we all love to blame Govt for when things break down. As Govt, we never shun away from taking responsibility. But, things work better when both Govt and the citizenry take responsibility. Have you ever noticed that at some sites, traffic lights don’t last? Someone always drives into them. An example is Corner Nemakonde and Harare Drive. Can we blame Govt? 😅

The culture of drink driving in Zimbabwe is a ticking time bomb, waiting to unleash its devastating consequences on innocent lives.
A visit to any public drinking place in the country reveals a disturbing trend –car parks filled to capacity, with patrons showing a blatant disregard for the dangers of drink driving.
The absence of designated drivers is stark, and it is clear that the majority of revellers have no intention of handing over their keys to a sober friend.

HOW WIDESPREAD IS GAMBLING IN ZIMBABWE?
When the Minister of @MthuliNcube announced that he will 10% withholding tax on sports betting winnings, there was a lot of conversation around this. I wondered how widespread was gambling in our country. Today, the Herald carries a story about how a Shift Manager at Simbisa Bakers Inn gambled US$3420 of his employers’ money and is now serving 10 months in prison. Gambling is one of those habits that can turn predisposed people into addicts. Do we have a rise in people participating in online betting in this country?
