@codetaur I am pretty sure that if you removed the guardrails opus would do a better job of convincing the average person it is conscious than most humans would do.

'AI Agents' are the biggest slop term I have ever heard. Whenever someone uses the term I automatically think they are retarded. What you are after is called Claude. You don't need some useless wrapper. Read and understand the Bitter Lesson. The only software that matters anymore is the software for artificial general intelligence. That's your 'AI Agent'. You don't need some useless slop wrapper company nor some useless 'multi-agent orchestration layer' nor 'vertical AI' nor some slop prompt creator. You don't need any of that shit. You need one AI - and it's what the AI labs provide out of the box. It blows my mind that people still don't get this.

Request for startups: I want an AI agent that plugs into my slack, email, Attio, LinkedIn, granola, etc. tracks all correspondence with our pipeline + potential prospects — and then reminds us to follow-up if we haven’t heard back from them and ingests all relevant context

The White House is not a rational actor on AI. I would not pin too much on their behavior. Mythos did indeed succeed in identifying where in open source projects it was most likely to find vulnerabilities. But that was also due to specific harness work that structured that sort of workflow. I don't think we know for sure how the two stack up, but it's a mistake to dismiss GPT5.5 capabilities.

Okay, since people seem to be not understanding the distinction here, I'll spell it out. They are not the same. Mythos can, on its own, discover lots of new vulnerabilities, because it is capable of navigating and exploring on its own and stringing these things together. It doesn't need to be told exactly what to do, it can figure out what to do. GPT-5.5 is at least as good as Mythos on 'narrow cyber tasks' as per UK AISI, but they have to be narrow. You need to know what it is you want done. That's valuable, but it's not at all the same thing, and far less dangerous. If OpenAI could have compiled and fixed a similar stream of bugs in the world's most important software, at similar compute cost, I presume that they would have. Indeed, GPT-5.5-Cyber exists, and yet the White House is objecting to Anthropic expanding deployment of Mythos. You think they're doing this for no reason? Meanwhile, the whole 'everyone will have it in six months' is the usual pretending that the situation is much closer than it is, although of course on a long enough time horizon the point stands.
David Sacks@DavidSacks

It’s time to demystify Mythos. Mythos is not magic. It’s not a doomsday device. It’s the first of many models that can automate cyber tasks (just like coding). OpenAI’s GPT-5.5-cyber can now do the same. And all the frontier models (including those from China) will be there within approximately 6 months. It’s important to recognize that these models do not create vulnerabilities; they discover them. The bugs are already in the code. Using AI to discover and patch them will actually harden these systems. The leap from pre-AI cyber to post-AI cyber means that there will be a big upgrade cycle. After that, however, the market is likely to reach a new equilibrium between AI-powered cyber-offense and AI-powered cyber-defense. Obviously it’s important that cyber defenders get access before cyber attackers. That process is already underway but needs to happen quickly (see point above about Chinese models). Unlike Mythos, GPT-5.5-cyber appears not to be token constrained so it may be the first cyber model that defenders actually get to use.

The game theory of these massive software tools connecting into Claude/ChatGPT/Perplexity is so interesting. On one hand, not doing it is almost certain death. On the other hand, all that use case/training data will almost certainly lead to them being cloned, commoditized, and beaten. At best, they'll be a shell of what they were worth before...slowly degrading into their minimum viable structure. Never been a time where billion dollar moats evaporated this fast. All those business school frameworks can go right out the window because the laws of business have changed.

Who is Israel? Over the last century, the name Israel has been positioned as synonymous with Judaism, a claim that is historically and biblically inaccurate. Israel, also known as Jacob, was the son of Isaac and the grandson of Abraham. These figures lived and died centuries before the revelation of the Torah to Prophet Moses and the subsequent inception of Judaism. The notion that one group is chosen over all others is misleading. The concept of the "chosen people" specifically pertains to the bloodline of Prophet Abraham and Prophet Israel (Jacob), a lineage God chose for the descent of Prophets, Kings, and Princes. Furthermore, this bloodline was promised the land of the ancient Canaanites. This promise was made to Prophet Abraham during his lifetime and was entirely independent of Judaism. Chronologically, it was impossible for Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Israel, or the initial generations of Israelites to have been Jews, as the Torah was revealed much later. They were monotheists in a predominantly polytheistic era. As this lineage evolved, one faction became Jews following Prophet Moses, another became Christians following Jesus Christ, and subsequently, a faction became Muslims following Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all). While God chose the Israelites for prophethood and the inheritance of the Jerusalem region, He distinguished the land as "blessed for all people," not exclusively for the Israelites. The indigenous people of Palestine are comprised of descendants from the twelve tribes of Israel. The violence directed toward them is the very essence of antisemitism, as they are Semites from the tribes of Israel. I call on the State of Israel to refrain from such actions, which are unjust and contradictory. It is the epitome of hypocrisy to harm the very lineage you claim to honor—those who follow the monotheistic path of their ancestors. The State of Israel has killed more Semites per capita than any other nation in recent history. How do you judge this?
