“GLP-1 Addiction?” Don’t Buy the Narrative ⬇️
The question I keep seeing:
“If I start microdosing… am I stuck on it forever?”
“I don’t want to be dependent.”
“What happens when I stop?”
No. That’s a misunderstanding of how this works.
You don’t get “addicted” to a signaling molecule.
You use it as a precision tool to help correct a dysfunctional metabolic state.
The goal isn’t forever use.
The goal is regain control—then maintain it.
A smarter way to think about it:
Think of compounds like Reta or Lepto as a metabolic reset tool.
Strategic use: Use it when needed.
Coming off an injury? Out of rhythm?
It helps bridge you back to performance.
Tool, not a crutch: When used correctly, you’re in control.
It supports your system—it doesn’t replace discipline.
When you understand metabolic flexibility, you don’t “lose progress”…
you know how to adjust.
The real outcome:
You stay in control of your body composition— even when life throws you off track.
Relying on high, “set-it-and-forget-it” dosing
without dialing in lifestyle is a mistake I keep seeing.
Stop fearing the tool.
Start understanding how to use it.

small life update!
i’ve joined Andreessen Horowitz’s @a16z venture scout program!
they are essentially letting me manage a little bit of money to write checks into startups. super grateful for the opportunity and excited to begin my angel investing career with the institutional backing of a firm as storied as Andreessen Horowitz (early into facebook, twitter, airbnb, lyft, slack, coinbase and many more)

i’ve had a little success with investing in public equities, I have no idea if any of those skills could translate to the private markets. investing at pre-seed/seed requires a different paradigm as there are no numbers, financials, track-record, and quite frankly there may not even be a product – it really is a bet on the founder and their vision.
having said that, if you are building something really cool and raising money, I’d love to hear about it.

Nothing has made me more optimistic about our AI future than visiting Alpha School. The dominant doomer narrative is that, even if we solve alignment, AI will automate so much that humans will be left with nothing but meaningless hedonism. As AI does more and more humans are reduced to less and less. Alpha School shows us that there exists an alternate path where human potential is realized, not truncated, by AI and where work becomes more meaningful. I shadowed Alpha’s co-founder MacKenzie Price (@mackenzieprice) for a week and was blown away by what I saw. They’ve replaced all of their human teachers with AI tutors that are able to offer bespoke, custom instruction to each student — the same kind of tutorship previously reserved for the aristocracy now scalable through technology. Her students spend only 2 hours a day on academics and yet consistently score 99th percentile in standardized testing and go on to study in the best colleges in the world. But what about teachers who now have all lost their jobs? They are hired as “guides” who dedicate all of their time to understanding and motivating their students instead of grading papers on the same basic material over and over again. For many, AI has freed them to spend more time on what attracted them to teaching in the first place — building human connection and inspiring the next generation. People are not gluten intolerant, they’re poison intolerant. Here’s the breakdown
“In America what we call bread can't even be considered food in parts of Europe. See, here in America, it's not so much the gluten as what we've done to the grain
- About 200 years ago, we started stripping the bran and germ or the fiber in nutrients to make flour shelf stable, also nutritionally dead
- Because the nutrients were gone, we enriched it with folic acid, which a large majority of the population can't even metabolize
Therefore many people experience fatigue, anxiety, hyperactivity and inflammation.
- But then the bread wasn't white enough, so they bleached it with chlorine gas
- The bread didn't rise enough, so they added a carcinogen called potassium bromate, which is banned in several countries like Europe, the UK and even China
- Then we wanted to ramp up production, so we started using glyphosate to dry out the wheat before harvest, causing endocrine disruption and damaging your gut
So now you're bloated, brain fogged, tired and blamed gluten. But gluten is just the scapegoat.
The real issue is ultra processed, chemically altered, bleached, bromated, fake vitamin filled wheat soaked in glyphosate. This isn't bread.”
