@CBHeresy Thank God!
I hope you get some good sponsors.
I've been wondering which VPN to choose.

@TKratman It's been a while since he penned any anti-Christian editorials in national newspapers on Good Friday but I thought we solved that problem by exiling him to the United States.

As I posted this, I did briefly consider whether anybody out there could possibly think I was being serious. Of course not, I decided.
Ah well.

@ArynReed @EckhartsLadder It's often amused me to see the three books in the Foundation trilogy described as "novels" when they are collections of previously-published short fiction.
And very much read as such, making them difficult to turn into a series

@jjglamma @EckhartsLadder Sorry your post, to me, implies that you’re thinking this book and show are both contemporary works. Foundation is the 1951 novel the tv series is adapted from.

@whitesundesert @BradRTorgersen I make it a point to buy my niece and nephews non tie-in LEGO kits as gifts as there seems to be more bang for the buck.
Unfortunately as of his most recent birthday, middle child has started to articulate a liking for Star Wars Lego.
Hey, it's his loss...
English

@BradRTorgersen That 70s-80s era of Space Lego was amazing, the illustrations on the box so inspiring. Now it's all Star Wars stuff.

If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.

@YorkshireLad76 @Mattpayne22 @fesshole The catalog brands in Oz were Tandy and Dick Smith Electronics; but yes, guilty as charged.
(Although "camcorder" above was wrong -- the kit was a camera and a battery-powered VCR on a shoulder strap.)
For this error I expect to have to turn in my battery of the month card.
Melbourne, Victoria 🇦🇺 English

@Mattpayne22 @fesshole This was absolutely a feature of some early VCRs. The intended use was to record commentary or music over home movies taken with a camcorder.
(I only know this because I was the sort of dweeby kid who read technology manuals from cover to cover. Maybe this should be a fess.)
Melbourne, Victoria 🇦🇺 English

@fesshole Yeah-didn’t happen. How were you able to record and overdub audio on a domestic VCR? You didn’t-because you couldn’t 🤡
English

@OzraeliAvi @ChrisCrewther It's not a compliment you idiot it's literally him saying that it's a scam and highlighting how scams easily seep into our system.
English

🚨 In a stunning twist, a Victorian Liberal MP has come out in SUPPORT of the “Free Palestine Party” and “Muslim Votes Matter” campaign.
Speaking in Parliament, MP @ChrisCrewther backed my plan, saying it exposed the absurdity of Victoria’s group voting ticket preference system while slamming Labor for refusing to fix it.
Now we’re close to officially qualifying with the VEC.
Join Muslim Votes Matter now at MuslimVotesVic.com it won't cost you a cent.
We only need 100 more registrations!

@ABCmediawatch "Don't you know who I am?" -- The "National Broadcaster"

So why was Australia’s national broadcaster shown the door by One Nation on the eve of a knife edge by-election?

@rkylesmith @benryanwriter You can't truly be a Gen-X if you stopped at one.
The possible exception would be if the "one" was _Pet Semetary_.
Melbourne, Victoria 🇦🇺 English

@benryanwriter King is a children’s book author and so is Kurt Vonnegut.

My parents went out of town when I was 12 and the babysitter took me to see Misery and then I promptly read the book.

@Milnerite @Chris1966 @ClarkeMicah Heh. There were apparently two HMS Lincolns in the 20th century. So I guess I am wrong.
Melbourne, Victoria 🇦🇺 English

@Milnerite @Chris1966 @ClarkeMicah I would imagine that the election of a President of that name made it unlikely in any event.

@dongjohnson710 @AlbaGurdBrath @VashKohime Dalton is my favourite non-Connery Bond.
Possibly because I was a 15 year old boy when _Licence To Kill_ came out.
(Although, I did recently rewatch them and I think they hold up better than the Moore films.)
English

@jjglamma @AlbaGurdBrath @VashKohime I thought both of Dalton’s movies were just ok. Much better than the late Moore movies, but nothing special
English

This commits nearly every single franchise origin story and post-millennium blockbuster sin that would dominate the next 20 years and it just doesn't matter at all, it's incredible.

@RoadknightThe No doubt some colonial oppressor somewhere alienated him from his culture.

He obviously didn't see the signs that the area was 'culturally significant' or wasn't Aboriginal enough to know.

Um, well, this is totes awks.
English

@dongjohnson710 @AlbaGurdBrath @VashKohime Dalton has a great Cold War spy thriller *and* a great 80s action flick.
I am aware that I am not universally agreed with.
Melbourne, Victoria 🇦🇺 English

@AlbaGurdBrath @VashKohime Imo each of the Bond’s with long runs (Connery, Moore, Brosnan, and Craig) has one great movie and maybe one good movie. Everything else is mid to bad
English

@SpicyDWTakes Absolutely.
That said, it does have first mover advantage.

The Five Doctors is just as much of a fan service fluff piece as the 50th and 60th anniversaries are.

@Glinner I'd ask Ray what a woman is, but I heard he doesn't answer questions.
English

@TheMekon_Venus You make an excellent point, but I would have illustrated it with a photo of Roger Delgado rather than Anthony Ainley -- who could very much hold his own with the modern Masters in the unhinged maniac stakes.
