@ArynReed @EckhartsLadder It's often amused me to see the three books in the Foundation trilogy described as "novels" when they are collections of previously-published short fiction. And very much read as such, making them difficult to turn into a series

@jjglamma @EckhartsLadder Sorry your post, to me, implies that you’re thinking this book and show are both contemporary works. Foundation is the 1951 novel the tv series is adapted from.

@BradRTorgersen That 70s-80s era of Space Lego was amazing, the illustrations on the box so inspiring. Now it's all Star Wars stuff.

I adore LEGO. LEGO was at its best when it did the early LEGO Space kits. The Galaxy Explorer was my first. I nearly broke my 6 year old brain on the directions. LEGO figures large in my childhood 6-12 YO. And that's precisely the age bracket all LEGO should aim at. Not adults.

(Although "camcorder" above was wrong -- the kit was a camera and a battery-powered VCR on a shoulder strap.) For this error I expect to have to turn in my battery of the month card.

As a teenager I used to put tape over the pressed out tab on VHS videos from the rental shop in the village, then audio dub "fuck off" over the sound at random points in a movie before it went back.

@Mattpayne22 @fesshole This was absolutely a feature of some early VCRs. The intended use was to record commentary or music over home movies taken with a camcorder. (I only know this because I was the sort of dweeby kid who read technology manuals from cover to cover. Maybe this should be a fess.)

Does anyone agree that The Master is best played in a dark costume with an evil moustache? And to be calm and calculated? When anyone takes on the role.. and doesn’t embody this.. I’m always disappointed. There seems to be an aim to make the Master more manic and insane these days.
