Their only defeats at World Cups since 2002 were all to brilliant German, French and Spanish teams who all won the competition. No shame in that.

The French are worse, out of 30 colonies only 0.5 ( 🇨🇦) turned out successful

The UK does have an equivalent of a minority being de facto banned from voting, Northern Ireland from 1920 to 1969. The Catholic protests were called the Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association for a reason.

Ireland in 1913 was only 30% poorer than France and Germany. It was also much better off than Southern Europe
