I'm so proud of all the bold isometric tile system and what it turned into. After about 2 years of designs, the file has gotten a bit out of hand...but everything created in @figma! When assembled, unlimited super cool illustrations can be made...and themed!

The morning after posting this photo in Tokyo, a stranger awaited me in the lobby of my hotel I went for breakfast and while passing through the lobby, someone on the sofa there turned around and said "Hello Pieter 🤝 " I was like WTF 😳 It turns out he was an indie hacker living in Japan (not Japanese, but Western), who'd been waiting all morning to meet me He figured out which hotel I was staying at just from the photo below I had a chat with him and he was nice, he had a regular job in Japan and wanted to build his own business too, all friendly and nice and fine But still it did make me remember that rule to never post photos in a place until you've left! Because you may get instantly d0xed and visited by people I guess obvious in 2025 Especially in a time where AI can find where any photo is taken in literally seconds, even up to the floor number you stay in a hotel, I stayed at floor 37 and it correctly guessed the range (33-38) Beware! x.com/levelsio/statu…

@rahulluthra22 for an app that works effectively. If all this are put in place with continuous and better iteration, you will definitely get a good number of people to use your app. Meeting the needs of users gives you a win, also your niche is important for good numbers too

@rahulluthra22 Incorporating a proper UX always helps with conversion. Getting to understand how a user thinks and what they do with an app is very important. Studying things like how people make decisions, how they remember different elements on your app, what type of emotions an app conveys

I've designed an app called SWEAT that has 1M+ active users. The secret to products that scale is obsession about the user. Here's what that looked like: 1. talked to actual users (existing, new, churned members) We asked open-ended questions, never leading ones. We timed them completing tasks, watched where they tapped first and how fast they moved through flows. Their feedback shaped our V1. Then we kept tracking what worked and what didn't. 2. built user personas (it's not even that difficult) Example: "Belinda the Beginner" - first-time gym-goer, shy, no trainer - not motivated by default - needs minimal equipment This drove every design decision: - evening workout times (she's not waking up at 6 am) - push notifications and achievements to keep her going - encouraging copy, not intimidating gym bro language When someone said "we should add one-rep max tracking," we pushed back because Belina doesn't care about that. I don't only think "what will look cool here?" I think "What is a woman trying to lose weight thinking when she opens this app?" The success lies in understanding the user. To scale to millions of users, be obsessed with the user, not just making things pretty.

@rahulluthra22 (are they confused, happy, surprised, do they enjoy using the app per se), the language used for communications (are you dealing with GenZ, GenAlpha, millennials...), what really gets people's attention, and how easy they find their way are important parts that must be considered
