I was briefed this morning on the U.S. military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as their planned imprisonment in federal custody here in New York City. Unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation is an act of war and a violation of federal and international law. This blatant pursuit of regime change doesn’t just affect those abroad, it directly impacts New Yorkers, including tens of thousands of Venezuelans who call this city home. My focus is their safety and the safety of every New Yorker, and my administration will continue to monitor the situation and issue relevant guidance.

I sleep better knowing my agents work through the night. Less work for me in the morning. My podcast processor transcribes & analyzes conversations. I started on my laptop, needed a little database to collect podcast data & metadata, & booted up a DuckDBinstance. But then the data started to grow, & I wanted the podcast processor to run by itself. I changed two little letters, & the database moved to the cloud : (first image) Now, in the small hours, 10 robots listen & summarize podcasts for me while I sleep. As I collect more & more podcast information, my data has grown. I’m using a larger instance of MotherDuck. (second image) Source : ClickBench Aside from ease of use, there are real price-performance advantages. MotherDuck systems are two to four times faster than a Snowflake 3XL & from a tenth to a hundredth of the price. (third image) Source : ClickBench As the amount of data expands & I process more technology podcasts every day, I’m sure I’ll need a data lake. At that point, I can migrate to DuckLake. @ohadasor You don't think that even with their inherent approximate nature (never being computationally correct by design), LLMs can still contribute to the progression of many important fields (even if this is just the middle point before integrating Logical systems)?

This tweet is +1y old, but I've said it for much longer. ChatGPT came years ago, and "AI" is still more or less the same. Against all "expert" predictions, it didn't cure cancer, it didn't colonize Mars, it didn't discover new physics, it didn't really improve much. Because I was right all along: machine learning is around its peak, and it is a huge bubble. Nowadays it's obvious, but back then I was a single voice against the whole world. Not only that machine learning is fundamentally incapable of logical reasoning, but the architecture of those giant data centers, is also incapable of logical reasoning. And I keep telling you: the real deal is Logical AI, and we are the leaders of this segment. Machine learning is only for translation.

@ohadasor @Krawlarr Some people might say some things while being ill-informed. That does not automatically make them trolls... On a different note, I really wish we could see more public interest/traction from the side renowned experts with super high public exposure.

@ylecun Logical based ai is a good way to try to make safe AGI. It is our human obligation to take all necessary steps to reduce the rise of the misalignment of this evolving super intelligence. (At least @TauLogicAI / @Tau_Net are doing something about it!)

@ylecun If turbojets could eradicate humanity at some later point of their evolution then perhaps that would be a fair analogy... Not enough is being done to increase the likelihood of safe ai.

One cannot show that turbojets are safe before actually building turbojets and carefully refining them for reliability. The same goes for AI.

@AnthropicAI The amount of legal work far exceeded the technical work. Finding a practical way for “race to the top” on safety will require experimentation. I’m deeply grateful to Anthropic, especially @sleepinyourhat, for persistence and willingness to navigate these challenges together.
