@legen_eth @QuCapLLC No Galaxy Digital $GLXY? It might be worth your time to take a look. Think of it this way - Vistra $VST, Coinbase $COIN, and Goldman Sachs $GS fucked their baby would be Galaxy Digital with only a $7B market cap

Treasury's Head of FinCen and OFAC today: "We also asses that terrorists prefer to use traditional products/services [as opposed to crypto]" Your move @WSJ @SenWarren @GaryGensler -- when are you going to apologize for lying to the public about misrepresenting Bitcoin/crypto?

The fact that the U.S. dollar is the global reserve currency is a *good* thing for us both economically (reduces borrowing costs) & geopolitically (more leverage over adversaries). But that also means the dollar trades at an “artificially” higher level than other currencies because there’s perpetually an extra bid for its reserve status. This makes U.S. manufacturers incrementally *less* competitive, for no fault of their own, because U.S. exports denominated in dollars are artificially more expensive than imports of those same products. This exacerbates the hollowing-out of the U.S. manufacturing base & ought to be an important economic policy consideration that both parties have missed.

Why Sharpe ratios are the cause of all failure in finance, and why TradFi can't get the risk return trade of Bitcoin. A long(ish) post: The idea of normalizing mutual fund performance by dividing realized returns by standard deviation was introduced in 1966 by the economist William Sharpe. As a tool, it grew more and more prevalent in Finance, especially during the golden era of hedge funds. It was viewed as a single yardstick, that could be applied like a Parker Score in wine appreciation to mathematically evaluate a fund's performance. The problem is, like any single metric, it was gamed. By effectively taking a short volatility position at all times, funds could produce high sharpe ratios for two, three or four years in a row, cash out, and then crash the system. This is what happened to LTCM. This is effectively what happened in 2008. What appeared "safe" was really hiding massive risk. By this point, the TradFi world had gotten so burned with hedge funds, that 1% interest rates was somehow viewed as "a good long term trade". The last thing you wanted was taking any kind of risk. The massive accumulation of long term debt at negative real interest rates is the flip side of this failure to understand the role of risk in returns. Its why Buffet and Vanguard ended up with all the money, and why the entire system is now effectively bankrupt. It's also why 90% of TradFi did not see Bitcoin coming. Despite the fact the current Sharpe Ratio of BTC is 1.62, the mere idea of 80% vol is outrageous to most TradFi investors. This despite another part of their brains being OK going long FAANG stocks. The big problem here is an over-reliance on mathematical models by people who fundamentally don't really understand math. "A Sharpe of 3" sounds fantastic to a Southhampton Finance Bro, but said Bro has no understanding, for example, of what the Central Limit Theorem is. Some old timers who have crossed both worlds like Greg Foss or James Lavish will understand this post well.

But let's say they hold paper orders all day. What happens in the price at the end of the day is 10% higher than earlier in the day? There's some way where these things are being settled inline. We're missing something here. It would be TOO RISKY to settle one time a day. Bitcoin is NOT a slow moving asset.

Hey @united On July 29, a United plane was nearly totaled after a hard landing Who was flying that aircraft? Was the co-pilot a former flight attendant who was FIRED and then rehired through United’s DEI program despite being on a list to not return to United? Am I correct that this individual failed multiple trainings including simulator training? Am I also correct that United has covered up this DEI disaster and many others?
