Why are the same leadership failures around sexual assault and harassment still happening in the Coast Guard? When senior leaders move into new roles - even overseeing academic institutions - we should be asking how they handled these crimes in their previous commands. Were victims supported? Were offenders held accountable? Or were cases minimized or quietly dismissed? How can the CG claim “zero tolerance” when enforcement is inconsistent? Real accountability isn’t optional. After I exposed the cover up of sexual assaults in the maritime community, I was blackballed. One of the few folks who stood by me was @johnkonrad @gCaptain. Instead of writing hit pieces I encourage reporters to write about John’s support for sexual assault survivors.
