No matter how much refineries Kiev attacks, it won't change the stats, they'd be repaired in a week. In fact, Moscow made more profit these past months than it did in 2025. The question remains, how long Ukraine can continue or will Putin decide to end it once and for all.

@jonkay All good points, but this is the quagmire you get into when clubs use players' uniforms for political messaging. They should find other ways to support causes rather than turning playeres into billboards.

This is insane. The pitchers weren’t forced to wear the Pride hat. Their collective bargaining agreement says so. The agreement also gave them the right to wear a normal SF hat (which one pitcher did, a move I support). The Genesis-citing pitchers weren’t penalized by the league or their team, even though *they* broke the rules their own players union had negotiated in 2022. If you have to fight the culture war by using the Justice Dept to investigate everyone you don’t like, you’re going to push ppl to the other side

@TheRealJoeFL65 @jonkay They can opt out, but will be subject to brutal criticism online and possibly in the press. This is why teams shouldn't use players for political messaging. The players might feel compelled even when its optional.

@jonkay Players in MLB do not have to wear Pride symbols if they don’t want to. It’s written into their CBA. They can opt out of wearing that stuff if they want to. They’re not, however, allowed to alter or deface the patches if they choose to wear them.

Notable that York is a minor league team that’s outside MLB’s farm system. Players are mostly journeyman. So both sides can act without risking upstream reputational damage to MLB, or to viable MLB careers. (I’d be shocked if a MLB-affiliated team forfeited under similar circs)

@MitchManners @katrosenfield By any reasonable standard, gay rights have succeeded spectacularly in America. That doesn't mean the fight is over, but things have changed dramatically. The darkest cloud on the horizon is Islamification. Christians are divided about homosexuality. Devout Muslims are not.
