It'll force the Tech Bros out of their West Coast Offices, which is long overdue. I'm qualified for lots of jobs that are only available if you live in Californistan. Sure it's an upgrade for foreigners, but it's a massive downgrade to most Americans. Americans prefer to live in Rural areas and there's zero reason you need to be inside a shitlib city to do these jobs.

Bottom Line Up Front: The U.S. produces ample new talent via bootcamps + degrees, combined with a large existing workforce (~1.65M+ in software roles) and moderate underemployment of qualified STEM graduates. Better domestic recruiting, relocation incentives, or pay adjustments would close gaps WITHOUT H-1B reliance.

As a platform guy I'm loving this. I built MCP servers that can query (read only of course) the platform and gave agents access. Now the answer to why is ENV broken is "have you asked the Agent yet". It either shows them the blatantly obvious mistake and they go away or they argue with it long enough for me to context switch and figure out the problem.

So I went all in on automating my job the last 3 months…spent 200+ hours and burned $1000s in Claude Code credits on a company API plan. Set up >25 agents and analysis / reporting routines with meticulously developed skill files to drive. Today, I only use maybe 5% of the tools I built. tbh I got burnt out of the endless loop of manually verifying every data point & math output, debugging, iterating, arguing with the LLM prompt cycle. I got sick of constantly re explaining context despite having hard coded context files. While it *feels* like I’m getting far more done with AI, i’ve added up the time it takes to get polished results, and found in many cases i’m only modestly saving time vs a “good enough” manual equivalent. I can’t deny AI has unlocked new capabilities for me to do my job…but it’s also adding on scope that cancels out efficiency gains YMMV

I'm not worried about Trump ATF rules being struck down. Biden tried to expand unlawful gun control by executive action without the support of federal statutes. Trump is shrinking the rules. Nor will the anti-gunners have standing to sue b/c they won't be injured by the rules--in contrast to gun owners/dealers hurt by Biden regulations.

Try to order garage doors from @Lowes and @wayne_dalton . They make a total mess out of the first order and I have to cancel it. Lose weeks trying to get doors. Place a second order. Months later I gets doors with the wrong torsion bars. Their combined solution? Pay even more money for the parts I originally asked for (The ones in the picture on the website). I'm just stuck with all the parts that are worthless to me. There will not be a third order. I will do business with anyone else and it's not going to be difficult to beat them on price given you have to buy 3 doors to get 2 working ones.
