@gopinth @annamalai_k Dont now why governements are adamant on forcing languages. Native language and one global link language "English" are enough. Instead of focusing on 3rd language, Govt should mandate likeskills, civic sense, sports as subject. This will flourish their life standards.

@annamalai_k In today's AI world, there is no need to put so much effort into languages. Instead, we can include more skill-oriented (AI, fintech, Moral values, creative thinking) class hours instead of these many languages, to make our future generations highly employable globally!

In April 2026, when the CBSE announced that three languages for Class VI students shall be made compulsory and 2 of the three languages shall be native to India, I was one amongst many who welcomed this decision that allows Children to learn multiple languages from a young age, which would help them to broaden their understanding of India’s diverse literary landscape. In the very same notification released in April 2026, it was explicitly mentioned that the Third language for Class IX children studying in CBSE schools will be made compulsory only from the Academic year 2029-30, which is 3 years from now. However, on 15th May 2026, the CBSE sent a notification to all affiliated schools introducing the third compulsory language for Class IX students from this academic year, rolling back its previous commitment to make it compulsory only from the academic year 2029-30. This has come as a shock to many parents, especially those from TN, as their Children have already selected a language of choice in Class VI, and now the revised notification mandates that Class IX students learn 3 languages, 2 of which are native to India, with effect from 1st July 2026. Expecting a Class IX student to learn a new language in a short time will only pressurise children and affect their overall learning outcomes. I request the Ministry of Education to roll back this notification immediately and to stick to the previous commitment to introduce the learning of 3 languages, of which 2 shall be native Indian languages, for Class IX, from the academic year 2029-30.

It has become Thiru @mkstalin avl’s habit to complain about something that is not even remotely close to the Central Government's intentions. The CBSE in the secondary school curriculum (Part-1), released for the academic year 2026-27, states that three-language education shall be made compulsory from Grade 6 in the academic year 2026-27. And it is explicitly stated that two of these three languages must be native to India. To clarify the languages to be offered, it is mentioned that all scheduled languages listed in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India are being offered, in addition to other Indian regional languages. Where is the question of the imposition of Hindi in this? Last year, the CBSE placed particular emphasis on using the mother tongue or home language as the medium of instruction during the Foundational and Preparatory Stages of schooling. Thiru @mkstalin avl should check with his daughter, who runs a CBSE school, whether she has begun imparting education in Tamil as the medium of instruction to students in the foundational stage at her school. He could also simultaneously check with his Ministers and key DMK functionaries who run CBSE schools across Tamil Nadu. Thiru @mkstalin, one almost misses the days when your misguided narratives required at least some effort to unravel. Now, they seem to collapse under the lightest scrutiny.

This is not Instagram you can’t fool X users You took down the DNS yourself and now you’re blaming the government If your website was actually taken down by Indian government why it is not working in other countries too And honestly I don’t think any of your Instagram accounts were hacked. Feels more like you’re trying to fool Gen Z in India

The government has taken down our iconic website - cockroachjantaparty.org. 10 Lakh cockroaches had signed up on our website has members. 6 Lakh cockroaches had signed a petition to demand the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Why is the government so scared of cockroaches? But this dictatorial behaviour is opening the eyes of India's youth. Our only crime is we were demanding a better future for ourselves. But you can't get rid of us that easily. We’re working on a new home right now. Cockroaches never die. 🪳

Dear Sir, Under Article 81 of the Constitution of India, the allocation of seats in the House of the People has remained frozen based on the 1971 Census. This constitutional freeze is set to end after the first Census conducted post-2026. Once the freeze is lifted, reapportionment becomes inevitable. Every South Indian state - without exception - stands to lose relative representation compared to the northern states. That is precisely the concern we have consistently raised, and the very imbalance the NDA sought to address through the Delimitation Bill and a proportionate increase in parliamentary seats for all states. Surely, a distinguished legal mind such as yours is fully aware of this constitutional position. Which raises an important question: why did the Congress party oppose the Delimitation Bill in Parliament? Was it political posturing at the cost of South India’s long-term interests? The Congress party must answer the simple questions: under Article 81, as it currently stands, what happens after the 2026 Census? Does the South not lose relative representation vis-à-vis the North? If that is indeed the case, why oppose a constitutional mechanism intended to prevent precisely that outcome?
P. Chidambaram@PChidambaram_IN

My young friend, Mr Nara Lokesh, Minister in Andhra Pradesh should do his math before talking about delimitation (interview to the HINDU) The Opposition parties opposed and defeated the Constitution Amendment Bill because the math showed that the five Southern states will lose representation in the LS in terms of RELATIVE strength (if Art 81 is applied without a change) The gainers will be some of the North Indian states The BJP tried to mask the outcome by increasing the representation in LS of each State by 50%, but that was exposed as an illusion Whether you take the representation of AP in LS at the current level of 25 seats or increase it to 38 seats, if Article 81 is applied without a change, the RELATIVE representation of AP will diminish or reduce I urge Mr Lokesh to please do the math again

No sir. Kindly pls don’t mislead the public. NDA leaders including Nara Lokesh garu are being very clear and precise. It is the UPA that is bringing up all sorts of unnecessary & irrelevant issues to muddy the debate and create diversions. Let me explain in simple language: Option 1 - NDA Proposal - Increase all seats in every State by 50% so each State’s percent representation in Lok Sabha remains consistent. End of story. Nothing more or nothing less. What is the precise problem with this? All voting in Lok Sabha — electing the PM, passing the budget, passing bills etc is based on percent voting (if a bill gets 51% votes it passes). So what’s the issue? This is the best option for Southern States since our percent would remain the same. Option 2 - Delimitation by Population Census - This is actually the default by law. But would have very adversely affected Southern States & hence NDA along with our North Indian compatriots very graciously dropped this. Option 3 - Extending the freeze for another 25 years (your proposal) - Today over 40% Parliamentary Constituencies have over 15 lakh voters each. A single MP cannot conceivably do justice to such a large population. It’s very unfair to the people. For that simple reason alone your proposal is not good. Further why will North India keep agreeing to kick the can down the road forever. Someone has to solve at least some part of the problems which is what NDA Proposal (Option 1) attempted to do. For the above reasons the NDA Proposal (Option 1) was the right proposal for India and especially for Southern States. Congress Party and its allies have done huge injustice to South India by making a mess of this and killing the bill. People of South India will never forgive and never forget. #Delimitation @RameshPV2010 @naralokesh @ncbn @JaiTDP @narendramodi @AmitShah @BJP4India @BJP4Andhra

Article 81 can be and must be amended to freeze #delimitation of #Loksabha constituencies until 2051, as was done in 1976 and 2001. Instead of fighting for the above 👆🏼 #AndhraPradesh satraps - @JaiTDP @JanaSenaParty @YSRCParty - are trying, desperately, to misinform and mislead the public 👇🏼 Andhra people are intelligent enough to recognise this 👇🏼 deception

One of the most important outcomes of delimitation would have been correcting India’s deeply flawed urban representation. Since 1971, India has transformed. We have urbanised rapidly. Our cities now drive jobs, growth, innovation and aspirations. But our Parliament and State Assemblies still do not adequately reflect urban India. This is why our cities lack the political capital needed to improve quality of life, public transport, housing, infrastructure and livability. By stalling delimitation, the Opposition has not only done a disservice to women and to the interests of southern India. It has also done a grave disservice to millions of Indians living in our cities. Weak urban representation means weaker cities. Weaker cities mean poorer livability, slower growth and lost opportunities for India.
The Economist@TheEconomist

Why are India’s cities so chaotic? They have grown at a blistering pace, but lack proper political representation because the country has a lopsided electoral system. The Economist examines the problem and what can be done to fix it for our new column about India, Ashoka econ.st/42OMbu8

🚨 Norway's Petrol Cartoon on PM Modi Completely Backfires⛽🐍 ⚡️While PM Modi visited Norway, their newspaper mocked him as a snake charmer with a petrol pump as the snake. ✅Reality check: Norway petrol = ₹220+ per litre ($2.45/L) India petrol = ₹95-107 per litre 💥More than DOUBLE the price in a rich oil-producing country! 🚀They have sky-high taxes. India keeps fuel affordable for 1.4 billion people. Context beats cartoon every time!💪🇮🇳

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands were once a bipartisan strategic priority. Congress leaders spoke passionately about their importance for decades. Today the same party calls Great Nicobar a scam. The islands didn’t move. The politics did. When will Congress realise that India’s security cannot be a vote-bank issue?
