no one remembers this: what ppl post today already went viral years ago (the recycled ideas get 1% of the originals) I want to introduce new ideas, not just maximize engagement recycling greatest hits that’s why I read old books

I was told I had a 3.6 cm tumor inside my brain, just two hours before my flight. It started with a sudden blur in my peripheral vision. No warning. No pain. Just a blind zone out of nowhere. I thought maybe my eyes were just cooked. Figured I’d squeeze in a quick check-up before flying. The eye doctor paused. “If you’re describing it this specifically… I fear there’s a 95% chance something in your brain is pressing on your vision. You need to see a neurosurgeon. Immediately.” An urgent MRI confirmed it. A large pituitary adenoma. A tumor pressing directly on my optic nerves. Likely growing silently for over 10 years. My heart sank. Not again. I’ve dealt with heart rhythm issues. A spine injury. Now this? At the counter for more scans, my partner asked how I was doing. I broke down crying. Right there. She hugged me while I stood there shaking. We cancelled our flights that night. I messaged my studio co-founder. “I don’t know when I’ll be back…” You start leaving love notes and unsent messages on your phone, just in case. You know. The next day, I went in for brain surgery. They accessed the tumor through my nose. No skull opening, thankfully. The surgery worked. I can see again. Recovery’s slow - mild headaches, a semi-working nose - but steady! This morning, I did my first client call since the incident. And something in me shifted. I feel grateful in a way I never have. Grateful for design. For creativity. For the fact that I can see. Grateful to be using an AI product we literally helped build. Grateful to be able to work from anywhere, with just a laptop and Wi-Fi. If you’re building something too, don’t forget the gift of life. Of health. Of doing what you love. Here’s to a better world with you in it. Upgraded with more headspace, John

@Josh_Christiane when we see people average at one thing, sometimes assume average at all things. being able to answer this or understang “everything” would be above average too. haha

@lintreadertim Brilliant question, and technically impossible to answer. I'd imagine anybody "average" in everything, is actually quite exceptional overall.

Most men are average, and most women are average, that's how averages work. The problem is that most men think they're average, and most women think they're the top 10%. This is creating an epidemic of singleness that apps like Tinder reinforce.

Hey Reads with Ravi, Lex Friedman and the rest of the listicle crowd. Books are fine, but in moderation. They are meant to exercise the brain, not the biceps.

KDP sales still going strong (Ad spend a bit higher though) I'm inclined to publish less on KDP Every book is a risk of getting your account terminated And you can make money on Spotify and TikTok

How to make $1500 in the next 24 hours using only your MacBook: → Open your MacBook → Find a domain → Create a website → Open Claude → Generate 50 articles → Build backlinks → Post on social media Once you've done all this: Sell your MacBook for $1500.

@fouadsader I’m not your best source for a list of Fiction masters. Mine are the well known like Hesse, Steinbeck, Faulkner and Hemingway. But this guy (Tim (@lintreadertim) on X) might have a better list.
