It is literally going to be the deciding factor of the fate of the KTCC or the larger TamilNadu state's economy in the next two decades and there is no other option unless the potential growth story is accepted to be compromised 😞
Would request @TRBRajaa & other opp. political peers - that all opposition parties take this up as a united front to convince the present government about the importance of this project and stand behind it till the project moves forward to execution.

The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation’s reply to Honourable MP @PWilsonDMK in the Rajya Sabha confirms that the Government of India granted ‘In-Principle’ approval for the #Parandur Greenfield International #Airport on 07.04.2025, based on TIDCO’s proposal. This is yet another affirmation that the #DravidianModel Government under the leadership of the then Honourable Chief Minister @mkstalin meticulously secured every statutory and stage-wise approval required to make #Chennai’s long-awaited ***dual independent runway*** Greenfield International Airport a reality. 🛫 Tamil Nadu cannot afford to mortgage its future to political grandstanding. Chennai urgently needs a 5,000+ acre next generation aviation hub with two “independent parallel” 4000Mtrs+ CodeF runways (not intersecting runways like Meenambakam which curtails runway capacity with lengths of 3600+Mtrs Code4E and 2000+Mtrs Code 3C ), MRO facilities, cargo terminals, aerospace industries, logistics parks, hotels and some room for future expansion. The site was chosen after extensive technical evaluation, balancing aviation requirements, connectivity, future scalability and minimising overall social and environmental impact. The #DravidianModel Government recognised the pain and angst of the affected villages and designed one of India’s most comprehensive rehabilitation and compensation packages to ensure affected families receive the best possible support while enabling a project that will benefit generations to come. Every responsible political party must rise above short-term politics and support transformational infrastructure that will shape Tamil Nadu’s future. Every decision on critical infrastructure must ultimately be guided by science, technical expertise and the long-term interests of Tamil Nadu. It is deeply unfortunate that a project of such strategic importance now stands clouded by uncertainty, with the Government maintaining silence while media reports speculate that it has been abandoned. G-Square has repeatedly told it doesn't own any piece of land directly or indirectly at Parandur . If the Govt concern is on politicians owing any land, they should freeze it or order an investigation on it which they haven't done. They are holding back only because they opposed it earlier!

Our rural school Kalaivani Kalvi Maiyam, which provides completely free education to rural children, faced delays getting approvals from the previous government. Of course, significant money was demanded and we were told that was the only way, even if it is a completely free school. After @TVKVijayHQ came to power, approvals have happened quickly and automatically. I am very happy to appreciate this positive development in our state. Could be like the Chennai Metro fiasco we had back in early 2010s. The then TN Govt opposed & wanted monorail but eventually agreed to it. Hope better sense prevails. You can't be luring investors if you are scrapping your biggest infra project which has professed so much!!

Yes. In Parandur - “Airport is more important than Agriculture.”
Total agricultural land in Tamil Nadu - ~59.71 lakh hectares.
Parandur agricultural land - 1,386 hectares.
Of those 1,386 hectares, how much is actively and productively farmed?
That’s ~0.0023% of Tamil Nadu’s total agricultural land.
Not 1%.
Not 0.1%.
Not even 0.01%.
Importantly, nearly 1,700 acres of land have already been procured through voluntary consent from landowners. Many farmers willingly gave up their land and have received good compensation (from ₹35 lakh to over ₹2 crore per acre).
The same land acquisition details show that ~35% of the total project area is poramboke - commons and water bodies.Someone opposing Parandur should give a valid debate on Airport vs Agriculture. No emotional drama. But if someone says, “Agriculture is more important than Airport,” then in Parandur’s case - it is not. The airport is MUCH MORE important than agriculture in Parandur.

I remember asking @cmda sometime in 2024 if am not wrong in a SM post and they said the Outer ring road policy would be out soon
Now we are in mid 2026 and it is still not out .
Every city would love to unlock such development corridors especially when your city is deprived of space on one side and govt agencies can auction plots , do JVs for long term recurring revenue in developing micro satellite nodes but we are napping well 🤦🏽♂️
If it is delayed much further there will no opportunity to create proper grid roads or auctioned mega developments because by that time Chennai miga arugil plot mafia would have made a butcher of the land available 😏

My entire family is agricultural, and I would say this too.
They're stuck in the 1950s tech of agriculture, all they know is how to grow 2 crops and spam it every year. if weather spoils it they either have to depend on govn or take the L.
They're complacent, no grows happen.
