We really need to change the sentiment around AI. If you ask the average American their thoughts on AI I guarantee the answer is usually a pure distaste and hatred for the technology. I think long-term AI boosts productivity and in turn boosts job growth, doesn’t hurt it. Doesn’t mean there won’t be ripple affects where people are displaced from their jobs for a few years though. But this sentiment around AI is NOT good.

Meta is preparing to lay off about 8,000 workers, which is 10% of its total worldwide staff, with cuts starting around May 20. New tracking software on US work laptops is adding to the bad mood because it monitors mouse movements, clicks, and takes screenshots from their emails and chats to train AI, with no way to turn it off.

@StockMarketNerd Honestly user wise i just think they went for trump accounts, longterm its super stable for them and if you add in the amount of kids to the new users suddenly u have growth of + 5 mil for this year? Thats like +20% users per year and its probably gonna go more and faster

$HOOD April metrics make it pretty clear why they’re shifting some focus to top-of-funnel & customer growth. Engagement & monetization trends look great. But 6% funded account growth. 7% 2-year funded account CAGR. Monthly active users haven’t grown in 2 years. Competitors like $IBKR outgrowing them on customer metrics. $HOOD still has a massive potential runway for more customers. Makes sense why they’re more directly working on speeding these growth rates up. We’ll see if they can make that happen.

Certain areas of the market have been on fire this year. Others lagging, Robinhood. I was really hoping to add more $HOOD in the 60s. Never came and I don’t think it will. Why? 1. The biggest reason, PDT disappears June 4. I think we will see some stupid numbers for June when Q2 reports. They stand to gain more than any broker due to avg account size below 25k and the nature of their traders. 2. Crypto was about as bad as it could possibly be for Q1 earnings, it has the feeling of rock bottom. Up from here. 3. It held $70 on god awful earnings. So major level above ipo breakout. Market may front run this but I’m hoping it doesn’t. I have a massive $rklb position that I don’t really want to pair back yet. Post SpaceX ipo I’ll take some off the table. Just hoping hood stays down here till then. Who knows. Maybe I get lucky and we do see 60s for some reason. ✌️

@Daniel_Vogler Corporate greed has been the best thing for humanity. It's the do-gooders who have caused most of the problems. Look at people like Bernie Sanders trying to ban AI, or the AI doomers trying to "help" humanity by preventing the health, prosperity, and freedom that AI will bring.

(+- they are public so u cant see their accounting) so for every dolar they make they lose dolar, what business lets invest :)

This "AI Bubble" is a completely hilarious meme to me We have these different "labs", all they produce is some semi-useful chatbot with different interfaces and charge a monthly subscription and then raise money by pretending the super intelligence is coming soon for years now
