Nothing better than fresh cooked meal with real whole foods. Tonight’s menu: chimichurri skirt steak and truffle mashed potatoes.

I think I'm going to advise against my kids getting their wisdom teeth taken out. I wish I hadn't gotten mine out. I feel duped. Why would God have us all grow teeth that need to be taken out?

Haha, yeah there is truth to that. I lived close enough when living in CA and also along Lake Michigan in WI. The actual experience of being on the beach of Lake Michigan was better, imo. Now that I give this some thought, I am not sure I’d pick CA coastal beach experience over any basic Midwest lake beach for non aesthetic purposes. I suppose surfing would maybe change that, but I don’t surf 🤷‍♂️

Let me explain California to you. Everyone shares pictures like this - look how beautiful, worth the taxes! Look closer. Nobody on the beach. You know why? Because the beach sucks. Pretty in a picture. But the reality is that it's windy, wavy, cold, dark, rocky and just shit. And that's up and down the coast - and it's most of the pictures you see shared. Pretty landscape... But treacherous conditions. And that's basically California in a nutshell. Good for a quick visit because it's pretty - but not actually better than Florida.

Marathoner pro tip - that can be applied to anyone running for performance. Stop measuring your fuel intake by grams of carbs per hour. — Instead focus on smaller segments and even distribution in those segments.

I like to start all my clients on body weight training. When they inevitably ask if they’re going to “lift weights.” I look into their eyes and tell them: “if you can do 10 clean bodyweight pushups right now, I will let you bench press/chest press…etc.”

Frozen blueberries can offer superior nutritional benefits compared to fresh ones, particularly in terms of antioxidant bioavailability. The key lies in the freezing process: when blueberries are flash-frozen at peak ripeness, ice crystals form and disrupt the fruit's cell walls. This breakdown makes anthocyanins—the powerful antioxidants that give blueberries their vibrant color and support anti-inflammatory, brain-health, and overall wellness benefits—more readily accessible and absorbable by the body. In contrast, fresh berries often endure days or weeks of shipping and shelf time, during which nutrient levels can gradually decline. Commercially frozen blueberries, harvested and preserved at their nutritional prime, avoid this degradation and provide reliable, year-round access to high-potency nutrition. Beyond better anthocyanin availability, opting for frozen varieties supports sustainability by minimizing food waste, offers greater convenience and affordability, and ensures a consistent superfood boost for smoothies, oatmeal, or snacks—ideal when local fresh berries aren't in season. @zbitter wondering if the driver is to avoid major medicals; i read that the deaths that occur are mostly after m19. they are trying to make it easier for some suffering runners to swallow pride and drop? i have seen hard cutoffs decide this for folks in ultras and ironman.

@thefoodbabe he is on point with the concern over sugar, but his endorsement of the bill to allow glyphosate (domestic or otherwise) in our food, even if only for a TBD transition period, is making this all a joke for the media to run with.

@Brady_H Seriously, buy bags of salted macadamia nuts and snack on them throughout the day. Super convenient way to ensure a surplus plus excellent nutrient profile.

Virtually EVERY drink at Dunkin exceeds the U.S. government’s recommended added sugar intake. Given 38% of teens have prediabetes - it is important to speak plainly about what is clearly a public health crisis with sugary drinks. Other counties don’t do this.
