To celebrate our @opendoor mortgage launch, we made a retro-style trivia game that tests your mortgage knowledge. The quiz gets harder the farther you make it. We're sending swag weekly to top scorers. Play now: homebuyer.com/trivia

i think we say "ai slop" just to protect the human ego and convince ourselves that human knowledge work will still have intangible value. feels kinda like my preference for watch movements made by hand. will anti-slop also turn out to be a luxury belief?

for as long as i've known scott, he's said "the most important thing everybody gets wrong is that we all say agi is coming, but most people don't actually act like it is." nobody i know has been better at positioning themselves for the future

as someone who went to both, can confirm 🤠 lynbrook was a public high school where being smart was cool and there was no substitute to working hard. the students were extremely disciplined and took nothing for granted it's probably not a coincidence that the founders of @cognition @DoorDash @perplexity_ai @Samsara @Saronic went to lynbrook, along with founding engineers at @DecagonAI @glean @rox_ai etc
david@davidtsong

apparently the smart way to recruit SW engineers is to value high school brand > college average Lynbrook alumni engineer 10x > average Stanford engineer

at @usevesta, we just announced a market moving deal in the mortgage software space. we've spent the last 5 years hard at work rearchitecting the process and tech around data, not people. partnering with pennymac is the first step to realizing our vision at scale. link 👇

i hope we all take this as a lesson or reminder to acquire companies the right way. the value of a company is not just a handful of people. it's the entire team, the culture, the business they've built
Cognition@cognition

Cognition has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Windsurf. The acquisition includes Windsurf’s IP, product, trademark and brand, and strong business. Above all, it includes Windsurf’s world-class people, whom we’re privileged to welcome to our team. We are also honoring their talent and hard work in building Windsurf into the great business it is today. This transaction is structured so that 100% of Windsurf employees will participate financially. They will also have all vesting cliffs waived and will receive fully accelerated vesting for their work to date. At Cognition we have focused on developing robust and secure autonomous agents, while Windsurf has pioneered the agentic IDE. Devin + Windsurf are a powerful combination for the developers we serve. Working side by side, we’ll soon enable you to plan tasks in an IDE powered by Devin’s codebase understanding, delegate chunks of work to multiple Devins in parallel, complete the highest-leverage parts yourself with the help of autocomplete, and stitch it all back together in the same IDE. Cognition and Windsurf are united behind a shared vision for the future of software engineering, and there’s never been a better time to build. Welcome to our new colleagues from Windsurf!

0/🚨 AI companies behave differently from traditional SaaS companies, and founders consistently ask us how AI companies are adapting and breaking out. After talking to hundreds of AI companies over the past few years, we think that there are a few emerging principles for building enduring enterprise AI businesses 👇

1/ chatted with @dsp_ and @alexalbert_ about why we @anthropic launched mcp, where it is today, and where we see it going. it’s still early, but the protocol wouldn’t have seen the adoption it’s seen thus far if the community were not constantly working to evolve it 🙏

@jonchu the best founder here will raise money and spend most of it to go to washington and lobby that the memory about the consumer belongs to the consumer so every model provider has to give you an api

A lot of folks keep talking about Plaid for memory, but I'm skeptical. Why would the model providers allow this to happen? It's their lock in. And unlike Plaid, you can't just scrape the memory and take it from them. They need to willingly give it to you. What am I missing?
