@_nativeamerica Very well done! How did she craft it? Wire frame first? Are the feathers made from newspaper or magazine pages?

@DJSnM Could you stick Centaur inside it and still use it?

The Universal Stage Adapter is the equivalent for the EUS. Dynetics won the contract and the PDR was complete in 2020. First test article was delivered in 2024. Now the end of the EUS means the USA will not be needed for SLS

We know that ULA has a working Centaur V stage, but integrating it to SLS will need a changed Launch Vehicle Stage Adapter, a new design will be shorter. The LVSA contract was awarded in Feb 2014, test article was delivered in 2016 and final flight article in 2020. Here's hoping that american industry can deliver a slightly shorter frustum in months rather than years.

@SciGuySpace No gap might be trickier than anticipated. Having a regenerative life support system that is reliable is required for stays greater than about a month…depending on consumable resupply schedule. If you can’t have a robust long-duration life support system, it may be short trips

@NASAAdmin Have you thought about also including Navy nuclear? They build and safely operate many small reactors. Lots of great expertise in design/build/run

We will be ahead of schedule
NASA@NASA

We have news! We're partnering with @ENERGY to get a lunar nuclear reactor ready by 2030. Continuous, reliable power means we stay, build infrastructure, and push to Mars. We are following through on the President's directive in the national space policy through American leadership in exploration, security, and a thriving space economy. History proves when we team up on big challenges, we win. @NASAAdmin & @SecretaryWright are doing just that. 🇺🇸

When you look across NASA, every center has unique strengths. Competition between centers isn’t the right approach. Some excel in aeronautics, others in planetary science, mission control, or launches. As we prepare for the future, including building a sustained presence on the Moon, we’ll look across the agency to ensure each center’s expertise is applied where it fits best.

Kimiya Yui, reflected in the visor of a crewmate’s helmet. @Astro_Kimiya, along with @Astro_ChrisW, will run the suit-up operations for tomorrow’s spacewalk – in my opinion, the greatest responsibility on one of the most challenging and rewarding days for astronauts. Kimiya is a technical master, but I love him even more for his selfless nature, bottomless patience, and perfect blend of humor and humility. When I’m having a rough day, Kimiya somehow shows up at exactly the right moment with a piece of chocolate, saying “thank you for your hard work” – and everything becomes magically better. This week marked Yui-san’s 300th cumulative day in space, and I feel so lucky to have shared some of that time with him.

Today marks 15 years @SpaceX. I spent last week at HQ in Starbase and couldn’t help but get sentimental. Much has changed since my first day in the office, but a few key things are identical. The mission, the energy, the buzz in the building, and the awe of walking around a rocket factory saying to yourself “do I really get to work here?!?” Thank you @elonmusk and @Gwynne_Shotwell for vibe setting, never changing the mission, and providing this kid from Michigan a chance to work with the greatest team on Earth. What a privilege!

Honored to attend the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Eric Krentz and Tommy Ellmauer in Port Washington - two outstanding young men whose projects are already making a real impact in our community. - Eric designed and built five eyeglass collection bins now located throughout Saukville (at the eye doctor, village hall, grocery store, and local printer) to support the Saukville Lions Club’s mission of providing eye care and glasses to those in need. - Tommy constructed a simulated wall with a window for the Port Washington Fire Department, helping firefighters prepare for real-life rescue scenarios. Their leadership, initiative, and dedication embody the very best of what it means to be an Eagle Scout. Congratulations, Eric and Tommy!
