@BowTiedCrocodil Got a new w2 at a fangish corpo this year. Interview was a mix of system design, some DSA questions with lots of manual coding solutions. Easily got an offer and use Claude all day now. Still have manual coding questions today, thankfully nothing as tedious as LC.

Low key I managed to opt out of this era, both jobs I had had easy fizz buzz stuff. I got promoted aggressively while in roles and only moved jobs once. Plenty of failed coding screens still but never got too deep in the weeds And now AI coding is here so everything is technical chats in realtime

@1RentalataTime Same. Now counting trading, there are different ways to make money. I was making 10k a month since I was 22. Easily. Even before. It's really not that hard if you think. USA is a land of opportunity, money literally grows on trees here for those who look up!

About 5 years ago I accidentally flooded the downstairs tenant’s bathroom in my NYC apartment building. Poor girl came home from work to her bathroom light fixture filled with milky brown water (so she says or whatever) My tiny Eastern European landlord dragged me downstairs, screamed at me in front of her, then goes: “YOU TWO FIGURE THIS OUT.” And just left us alone together in her apartment. Crazy move in hindsight? I actually ended up taking her on a few dates after, but a young MHG got the HR text and would hide from her whenever I’d see her in the building Just saw she got engaged this weekend Lesson in that folks
