@latimeralder Uncoupling electricity pricing with the most expensive form of generation (gas) even though it makes up a relatively small percentage of total generation at times would achieve a lower unit price.

Where does Britain get its energy from?
39% from oil
32% from gas
10% from wind
and a few odds and sods.
This may come as a shock to renewables fans. Be gentle with them. It upsets their world view

I think we should change the tax brackets.
Up to 15k tax free
Basic rate 20% up to 60k
60k - 80k - 30%
80k - 150k 40%
150k - 500k - 50%
500k - 2,000,000 55%
Then 60% on the rest over 2,000,000

@dgfoster @sarah_go_green Part time nurse here, certainly not 'rich' two EVs, rooftop solar, ASHP, and Power wall. All installed and bought using cheap / free credit and green incemtives. Now mostly paid for and paying us back in spades. I saw the future ten years ago and did something about it.

Woken up this morning and my car is charged to 100%.
No getting in line. No hikes in price. I fixed my tariff for the year and i can even top up on solar which no one can block!!
We need more energy independence!
Rooftop solar where excess can be added to your car or the grid makes sense!!!

@Sodthong7 @ecocars1 Looks as though over a quarter of their energy came from renewables from this screen grab. The grids are only getting cleaner too. Wake up. EVs are far superior in almost every respect (except for very long range drives - although this is improving quickly)

@KiwiEV Had quite a lot of "oh. EVs aren't as cheap now the government are planning on a 3p tax" not realising that the fuel price escalator is going up at a faster rate. Yeah, maybe they're not as cheap as they once were to run but still considerably cheaper than ICE

Additionally my Powerwall is backed up by 'Effel' our 66 plate mark 1 🌿, who now spends most of her life plugged into the Indra bi-directional charger. So in the summer I can top up the MG from the batteries

Surprised at so many “omg the mileage” comments on yesterday’s posts about 90k mile Taycan/Polestar.
I currently own a 124k mile BMW i3s, 135k mile Maxus e-Deliver 3 and 219k mile Vauxhall Vivaro-E. They’re all in very good shape battery/motor wise 🤷♂️
