For many Bengalureans like me, especially 90s kids, growing up meant growing up with Bookworm. In many ways, the store turned many children into actual bookworms. It was here that most of us discovered Enid Blyton, Jeffrey Archer, P. G. Wodehouse, Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, and wonderful Kannada writers like Poornachandra Tejaswi, Anupama Hoskote, Sumathindra Nadig and many others. I have fond memories of coming here, buying books, and often simply sitting inside for hours reading, sometimes even going back without buying one after spending an entire afternoon in the store. Shri Krishna, the owner, has always been a warm and affectionate presence, welcoming every reader with a smile and going out of his way to find the title or author you are looking for. The store also houses thousands of out-of-print books that are almost impossible to find anywhere else. It was deeply distressing to see the store flooded in the recent rains, with so many books damaged. But it was equally heartening to see thousands of readers, book lovers, and loyal patrons come together to volunteer, help the staff protect the books, dry them, and stand by the store. That is the true spirit of Bengaluru. Today, I visited the store to thank them for their years of service and, as a fellow reader, to offer my support. If you want to support places like this, take your children there. Help them cultivate the habit of reading physical books. Because reading in the classic way still has a joy that nothing else can replace.

This hotel is located on the Bangalore to Shivamogga National Highway, in the middle of Nittur Gubbi, it is called Vasudeva Adigas. All KSRTC buses stop here for lunch. However, if you use Google Pay, you will be paid to a person named Ahmed Latif Khooba. All the people in the hotel are Muslims. I asked him if you are from Adiga. He said yes. What does that mean? He doesn't know I asked him first if there is non-veg, and he said, "Go there." This is like cheating by using a Hindu name, what do Vasudeva Adigas say about this, the people of Nittur Gubbi should inquire about it. If we inquire, a case can be filed against us as a communalist, the police should inquire about this and take action. Hundreds of such hotels have been coming up on the national highway for the past 2-3 years. #FoodJihad

I think India will get solved with just 2 things: 1. Cleanliness: Clean the streets. Punish the litterers. 2. Respect: Treat the citizen with respect. FIRs are lodged. Complaints are addressed. Every government official has a body cam. Just two things. Can be done in two years.
