@nuIIpoint3r @Skwerilleee Marxists usually only get rich by being in power. Like Sanders, AOC, etc etc. I haven’t heard of one actually making anything.

@acysbib @heatguyj81 @Skwerilleee We’re talking about 2 different things. If you want to say “it’s slavery but they deserve it”, go for it. Whether they deserve it is different than what it is you’re saying they deserve.

The reason it isn't slavery, is because if it was ever given as a sentence, first off, it would not... But, if it was, you *STILL* have the freedom to tell the jailer "fuck you" and they won't whip you until you comply. You don't *have* to do the work. There is a pretty big difference.

@acysbib @heatguyj81 @Skwerilleee The wording says “you can punish people for not working with solitary”. Not “you can revert a previous exclusion from solitary that was given due to the work”

@acysbib @heatguyj81 @Skwerilleee Not reading all that previous stuff in the thread, but the ability to say no doesn’t equal freedom. Coercion does not count as a “free voluntary agreement”. Someone could withhold resources from you, hold you at gunpoint, threaten you, etc, and you could technically “say no”

@Skwerilleee @_ThisSiteSucks You don’t either. If someone steals your car, I’m sure you’d be ok with violence against them. Bc you don’t believe they have the right to that. Marxists don’t believe the billionaires have the right to what they have.

@Skwerilleee @riksnapper Living in a system where existing wealth is preserved by force is not voluntary. I don’t agree that people who were born into wealth should have rights to that wealth. But if I go take it there will surely be violence against me. So don’t morally grandstand on “violence”.

@riksnapper @nuIIpoint3r "I'm entitled to initiate violence against other people because I'm jealous they're more successful than me" Psycho shit. (Also successful people in capitalism aren't violating the rights of anyone. Capitalism is a series of voluntary transactions between consenting parties.)

@Gabby_Hoffman It’s from the construction work for the data centers. Blasting is used to clear the area. Doing that sometimes collapses nearby aquifers, which ruins the wells that feed off them.

Closed-loop cooling in data centers DOESN'T use municipal drinking water. Local drinking supply is therefore unaffected. Where was this water sample was sourced from!? The Congresswoman is the key House author of the Green New Deal resolution. Be skeptical of her performative gestures.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@RepAOC

This is what drinking water in Georgia looks like after Meta began data center construction in the community. Today I called for EPA and Congressional investigations into the impact of data center construction on local drinking water supplies. We cannot take water for granted.

@nonsensical912 @IMAO_ It’s not the data centers themselves. It’s the blasting required to clear the land beforehand. It can collapse aquifer structures, which ruins nearby wells. And it’s personal wells this is happening to, not the municipal water supply. Bc it’s rural.

@IMAO_ When pipes are opened up to accept new tie ins from other developments, there is normally lots of dirt that gets in the system. This is normal to everyone with a passing understanding of plumbing

@JTLonsdale Buddy, it’s not “progressives”. Texans do not want your surveillance state bullshit. Get your flock cameras out of here. “Use the constitution to surveil citizens”. What a joke.

For decades, we let progressives ruin great cities like Austin. We have a choice: do we blame voters and throw up our hands? Or do we use the TX Constitution to take more power from corrupt large cities, protect our kids, and clean up the mess? I'm going to choose the latter.

@creation247 @darwintojesus Because I don’t believe in either and you worship god. Kind of a moot point to say Satan is bad. Nonetheless, if Satan were to exist, it’s y’all.

@Exacerbater1 @Bubblebathgirl @hasanthehun Regardless of what we can individually do for our personal situations, the self-perpetuating mechanisms of capital still exist that enable the exploitation of labor, perversion of incentive structures, and the corruption of government.

@nuIIpoint3r @Bubblebathgirl @hasanthehun I literally moved out of my parents house with nothing at 15. Didn't really get ahead until my 30's working 100+ hour weeks in the oilfields. Now, I'm a homeowner with no debt and can do whatever I want with my time. Class mobility requires work. Nobody gets ahead on 30 hr weeks.

cuba has never been a threat to the us. it’s only threat was being a successful alternative. a country that fought & won its own sovereignty and dignity. we starved them for that & never stopped. between this and the nyt funding piece, we’re manufacturing consent for war.

Cuba has acquired more than 300 military drones and recently began discussing plans to use them to attack the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay, military vessels & possibly Key West, 90 miles north of Havana Exclusive on what the Trump Admin is thinking 👇 axios.com/2026/05/17/us-…

@Exacerbater1 @Bubblebathgirl @hasanthehun Still, I have had to work infinitely harder than a friend I had growing up, who’s name you would recognize, who’s family initially got their money from reformation banking taking advantage of the freed slaves with little options. And that pile of money has continued to snowball.
