On 1, the simple mental model is low, higher, highest wrt limits for Google AI subs, we don't publish the specific numbers because it is all changing and shifting over time. But Ultra users get the highest limits we offer, Pro is less, and free is even lower or zero.
On 2, this is very true! I want to land cost / depth knobs for the next version of DR. Right now you can set two different models which give you a little cost control, but not enough. Something I want to fix. Behind the scenes, DR uses an ensemble of Flash and Pro requests to maximize quality and minimize cost to get there.

im gonna offer some feedback instead of just shitting on the PR spin
1. you need to clarify what the new benefits are
everyone from google is wandering around talking about ai pro/ultra now having "higher rate limits" in AI studio, but it feels like they're congratulating themselves for inventing a noun, because nowhere does it say what the limits are. what separates pro from free? what separates ultra from pro?
who knows. is it even benefits? or are we just seeing what your words literally mean, that rate limits have gone up.. so now we can pay more to pay more? is this RPM? who knows!
2. your pricing model in deep research max is just unacceptable. you can't say "this costs both the price of our most expensive model and also the price of our cheapest model, and you'll be billed for both.. so.. have fun"
if you're legitimately going to do this then the agent needs to give an estimate of cost before running

@synthwavedd Right now it’s an infra issue, we have to do a bunch of work to make non-standard things in the API (GenMedia, Agents, etc) work with the Google AI sub which we are working on!

Another (real) story on how Google seems to hate paying customers:
- Dev is a paying Antigravity customer
- Wants to track usage. Antigravity doesn't provide a tool.
- Uses CodexBar
- Gets banned with Antigravity
- "No problem, let me use Gemini CLI"
