India has achieved a historic milestone in the power sector by commissioning 64,895 MW of generation capacity in a single year, the highest ever, surpassing the previous record of 34,054 MW in FY 2024–25. Notably, 52,095 MW of this addition comes from renewable energy sources, reflecting a strong shift towards clean energy. The 8-month programme is designed to support 60 writers from across the country working on feature films and short fiction, with in-person workshops to be held in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Guwahati. Ms. Suman Chandra, Director, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, delivered a special address at the event and formally announced the launch of the lab. She highlighted the importance of such timely initiatives that bring together storytelling and climate & clean energy awareness.
