Mnangagwa yet to deliver Masvingo FC bus, cash Cash-strapped Masvingo United FC is in dire straits despite a pledge of US$150 000, a bus and two executive vehicles from President Mnangagwa made at the beginning of this season. Mnangagwa who made the promise on March 6, 2026, has delivered US$35 000 cash and nothing more. The crisis is that there is now bad blood between the executive and players who believe that the former have received all the money and squandered it. Another dilemma is that the usual small but traditional donors who are under the impression that the team is well covered by Mnangagwa’s pledge have stopped assisting the team. The pledge was announced by Masvingo Minister of State, Ezra Chadzamira. Players three weeks ago refused to play a game against Green Fuel until their outstanding bonuses were paid. They told the Club executive to use the US$150 000 received from the President to pay the bonuses and refused to hear the executive’s explanation that the bulk of the money is yet to come. The players later agreed to play after the executive promised to pay the bonuses after the game. Apparently executive members are scared to comment on the pledge to either the players or the Press for fear of jeopardizing the pledge. Masvingo FC treasurer, Edwin Raramoyo confirmed to Masvingo Mirror that the team had received US$35 000 from Mnangagwa. IT WAS ALL ABOUT ED POWER GAMES…ED worked with Tshabangu to engineer illegal recalls that ultimately handed ZANU-PF a fraudulent two-thirds parliamentary majority, in clear violation of both the law and democratic principles. Unfortunately, when the recalls began, many failed to recognize that this was part of a long-planned strategy orchestrated by ED. It was never about the claims that the CCC lacked a constitution or formal structures. In Zimbabwe you can not submit party candidates to ZEC without a party constitution. Parliament and Mudenda were in possession of CCC constitution but chose to ignore it on instructions from his Zpf Boss. Those no constitution and nil structures narratives were merely a smokescreen. Some individuals, driven by their disagreements with Nelson Chamisa, celebrated the recalls, unaware that they were in fact celebrating the erosion of democracy and the weakening of our nation. The foundation for the current constitutional amendment agenda was laid in 2023 through those engineered and unlawful recalls. However, all is not lost. The real struggle lies ahead. The task before us is to continue fighting for a Citizens' Government—one that reflects the true will and aspirations of the people of Zimbabwe. The future of our country depends on the determination of its citizens to defend voice, agency and fundamental rights .

He has a calm way of getting people to relax, and then, without raising his voice or creating drama, he quietly pierces through the story and gets people to reveal far more than they intended. This latest interview with Potato is another cracker. But the one that still stands out for me is the 2016 interview with the current Zimbabwean ambassador to Mozambique, Victor Matemadanda. That interview was fascinating because Oscar allowed him enough space to speak freely while still steering the conversation in a way that exposed the deeper political story underneath. That is the mark of a very good interviewer. The best interviews do not feel like interrogations. They feel like conversations, and before the guest realises it, the real story is already out.
