@internetfreedom Please share any draft response so that general public (like me) can raise objections to the rules.

Fifteen days. That’s all the we have to respond to rules that could reshape online speech in India.
What is being called “clarificatory” quietly expands censorship powers, increases data retention, and puts pressure on platforms to over-remove content.
This is not a minor update. It is a structural shift.

@the_hindu conveniently ignoned the name of the university (PES) in the headline, probably because it published an ad of the same University right next to the article. 👏👏

If any #insurance company rejects any claim amount citing invalid reasons, you can complain to Insurance Ombudsman at cioins.co.in.
Recently, the shady company @StarHealthIns settled with me after filing complaint against them. Thanks to the Ombudsman.

@sandeep_PT @KumarRavijr786 Exactly, if you have an LPG cylinder at least you will have that buffer. With PNG, gov can announce a cut off similar to sudden lockdown announcements.
English

@KumarRavijr786 Yes!
PNG is a huge control switch in government's hands.
Entire gas supply to a society - just cut off with one instruction.
English

LPG crisis in India - understand simply
(LPG, PNG, LNG)
1) LPG and PNG are two different fuels: LPG is propane-butane mix and PNG is methane-based natural gas.
2) LNG and PNG? While LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is natural gas cooled to -162°C and converted into liquid for transport, PNG (Piped Natural Gas) is natural gas delivered directly through pipelines to consumers. So LNG during transport, PNG during end use. [And CNG is just natural gas compressed for use as fuel in vehicle] This natural gas is still only ~6–7% of India’s total energy mix, amounting to ≈ 189 MMSCMD, of which 50% is imported.
3) LPG is produced from both oil refining and natural gas processing, & is part of a larger global energy chain.
4) India imports over 50% of LPG needs, creating significant dependence on global markets. This dependence ties household cooking fuel to geopolitics, especially sensitive routes like the Strait of Hormuz (now practically closed).
5) PNG, delivered via pipelines, reduces reliance on truck-based cylinder logistics, improving urban reliability. But not so in rural regions - PNG infra there is tough.
6) Expanding PNG in cities allows optimizing limited LPG supply for rural and hard-to-reach regions. The GoI is pushing this now.
7) Schemes like Ujjwala Yojana dramatically increased LPG access, improving health and dignity but also increased total demand pressure. Planning didn't keep up.
8) India produces some natural gas domestically, but still imports LNG from countries like Qatar and United States. So India isn't fully self-reliant in PNG, but it diversifies supply sources and reduces single-point dependency.
9) A shift toward PNG reflects a broader political goal of building a “gas-based economy” to transition toward cleaner fuels. Aligns with environmental priorities. Also, pipelines enable better control, monitoring, and pricing transparency compared to LPG cylinders.
10) Reducing LPG subsidy burdens while maintaining access is a delicate balancing act between welfare and fiscal discipline. A move toward PNG is not about replacing LPG entirely, but about energy security, diversification, and long-term resilience.

In theory @delhivery Direct is a good idea! Courier with home pickup. In practice - a complete nightmare. Their agents keep falsely reporting 'package not ready' (5th day today). They have no human customer care, no useful responses on email, nothing! Please RT to spread the word

Under Sec 178 of the Motor Vehicles Act, street autos/taxis are heavily fined for refusing rides. Yet, big aggregators have built ride rejection AND price haggling directly into their UI! 12 rejections and asking me to pay "extra" just to get a cab. How is this legal? 🤷♂️🚕 @morthindia @blrcitytraffic @nitin_gadkari @RLR_BTM #RideHailing #BengaluruTraffic #OLa #Rapido is this a online ride scam ?? @CMofKarnataka @PriyankKharge @MBPatil

@RapidoCares @rapidobikeapp Your cab driver harrassed my friend (girl). And upon reaching the destination he started abusing me with swear words. I am trying to connect to support on app. But no response. If I don't receive any response I'll file a case against you and driver.

@MMRDAOfficial Joke of the day: "assure that all those found responsible will face strict action".
English

We deeply regret today's unfortunate incident near Pier No. P196 by Mulund Fire Station
Some reports and social media posts have suggested a link to an earlier misleading post questioning the structural stability of Metro Line 4 construction.
We would like to humbly submit that this is inaccurate. The visuals used in that misleading post were from a different pier and a different location. Also, today's unfortunate incident involved the falling of a portion of the parapet.
A high-level investigation has been ordered in the incident, and a detailed report will be submitted promptly. We urge people to await the findings of the report and assure that all those found responsible will face strict action.
Also, immediate corrective measures will be implemented to prevent recurrence.
As a precautionary measure, construction in the immediate stretch has been halted for the time being. A fine of ₹5 crore has been imposed on the contractor and ₹1 crore on the general consultants.

Delhi: In West Delhi’s Janakpuri area, a 25-year-old bike rider, Kamal Dhyani, died after falling into a pothole while returning home late at night from his job in Rohini.
The brother of the deceased says, "...Last night at 11:30, we spoke to him. He said he had reached the DC Centre and that it would take him 15 minutes to reach home... After 30 minutes, we called him 10 times, but he didn’t answer. We became worried and went out to search for him, but couldn’t find him. When we went to the Janakpuri police station to file a complaint, they said it could only be registered after 24 hours. We requested, Sir, please trace his phone while it is still ringing. They found the location and sent it to us, but then deleted it.... When we went back, they said they couldn’t give us the location again as it is a confidential..."
