కొల్లేరు అస్తిత్వ పునరుద్ధరణ – 1 ప్రపంచ ప్రఖ్యాత పక్షుల నిలయం, 1999లో అభయారణ్యంగా వన్యప్రాణుల చట్టం గుర్తింపు, 2002లో Ramsar Site గా గుర్తింపు పొంది ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ గర్వకారణమైన కొల్లేరు సరస్సు నేడు తన అసలైన అస్తిత్వాన్ని కోల్పోయే ప్రమాదం అంచున ఉంది. ఈ పరిస్థితికి కారణాలు ఏమిటి? కొల్లేరు ఎలా ఈ స్థితికి చేరుకుంది? దాన్ని ఎలా పునరుద్ధరించాలి? ఈ ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానాలను, నేను సేకరించిన సమాచారం ఆధారంగా మీ ముందుకు తీసుకురావడానికి ఈ రోజు నుండి “కొల్లేరు అస్తిత్వ పునరుద్ధరణ” అనే సీరీస్‌ను ప్రారంభిస్తున్నాను. కొల్లేరు పునరుద్ధరణకు ఉపయోగపడే సమాచారం, పాత పత్రాలు, అధ్యయనాలు లేదా మీ అనుభవాలు మీ వద్ద ఉంటే దయచేసి దిగువ కామెంట్స్ రూపంలో తెలియజేయండి, bolisettisatyanarayana@gmail.com కు పంపండి. ఈ కొల్లేరు పునరుద్దరణ ప్రయత్నం ఒక వ్యక్తి ప్రయత్నంగా కాకుండా సమాజం మొత్తం భాగస్వామ్యంతో ముందుకు సాగాలని ఆశిస్తున్నాను. ఒకప్పుడు కృష్ణా మరియు గోదావరి నదుల డెల్టా మధ్య విస్తరించి ఉన్న ఈ సహజ తడి ప్రాంతం లక్షలాది పక్షులకు ఆశ్రయం, లక్షలాది ప్రజలకు జీవనాధారం. కానీ గత కొన్ని దశాబ్దాలుగా చేపల పెంపకం పేరుతో జరిగిన అతి విస్తరణ, అక్రమ చెరువులు, రసాయన కాలుష్యం వంటి కారణాలతో కోల్లేరు పర్యావరణ వ్యవస్థ తీవ్రంగా దెబ్బతింది. దాదాపు యాభై సంవత్సరాల క్రితం చేపల ఉత్పత్తి పెంచడానికి “బ్లూ రివల్యూషన్” కార్యక్రమం ప్రారంభమైంది. మొదట ఇది ఆర్థిక అభివృద్ధికి దోహదపడినప్పటికీ, కాలక్రమంలో కోల్లేరు సరస్సు సహజ స్వరూపాన్ని పూర్తిగా మార్చేసింది. వేల ఎకరాల సరస్సు ప్రాంతం చేపల చెరువులుగా మారిపోయింది. సహజ నీటి ప్రవాహ మార్గాలు మూసుకుపోయాయి. 2024లో భారీ వర్షాల సమయంలో కోల్లేరు సరస్సులో నీటి మట్టం ఒక్కసారిగా పెరిగింది. సహజంగా వరదనీటిని గ్రహించి పరిసర ప్రాంతాలను కాపాడాల్సిన సరస్సు, చెరువుల అడ్డంకుల వల్ల తన సామర్థ్యాన్ని కోల్పోయింది. ఫలితంగా అనేక గ్రామాలు వరద ముప్పుకు గురయ్యాయి. కొల్లేరు ఒక సాధారణ సరస్సు కాదు. ఇది: సుమారు మూడు లక్షల మంది ప్రజలకు జీవనాధారం వందల గ్రామాలకు సాగునీటి ఆధారం యూరప్, ఆసియా దేశాల నుంచి వచ్చే వలస పక్షులకు కీలక ఆశ్రయం. అయితే అక్రమ చేపల చెరువులు, వ్యవసాయ రసాయనాలు, పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణపై నిర్లక్ష్యం కారణంగా కోల్లేరు జీవ వైవిధ్యం క్రమంగా తగ్గిపోతోంది. ఒకప్పుడు లక్షల సంఖ్యలో కనిపించిన వలస పక్షులు నేడు చాలా తక్కువగా మారాయి. కొల్లేరు రక్షణ అంటే కేవలం ఒక సరస్సును కాపాడటం మాత్రమే కాదు. అది మన పర్యావరణాన్ని, నీటి భద్రతను, భవిష్యత్ తరాల జీవనాధారాన్ని కాపాడటమే. కొల్లేరు భవిష్యత్తు గురించి సమాజం ఇప్పటికైనా ఆలోచించాల్సిన సమయం వచ్చింది.
