Francis Xavier called the inquisition to Goa, it's a fact.
The inquisition was most brutal, not only in Goa.
As schoolkids, we were once taken to the Nuremberg Burg (fort/castle) and to its torture chamber.
i still remember the 'iron virgin'. it was a woman-sized metal cage full with sharp nails protruding inside.
a woman, condemned by the Inquisition, was pushed inside and the door was closed. the nails would pierce her body, till she bled to death...
there were other torture methods, but this one i never forgot (I was 10 or 11 at that time).
it would be good if the Indian Christians discriminated between what Jesus said and what the Church did...
Jesus said many things in tune with Sanatan Dharma.

Imagine the insecurity. First, you fight for the cause, demand everyone speak Marathi. Then, when the state govt is taking an effort to make them learn, you gaslight the media into thinking their jobs and awards are at risk.
How do you champion the language cause while sending your kids to Bombay Scottish and hosting guests like Javed Akhtar who don't speak a word of it?
If someone from UP or Bihar learns Marathi well enough to win an award in journalism, they deserve it and it would be great for the langauge.
It may well be a much-needed reality check for the jokers running the show. 🤡
