Any Californian lucky enough to be grandfathered in with solar NEM 1.0 would be a fool to switch to TOU to have a lower kWh at night for charging, while paying dramatically higher for all of your other electricity during day/evening peak, plus getting ripped off for power sold back to grid. Last year, power company thoroughly reviewed my charging history, as they have pretty sophisticated ways to figure out what appliances you’re running based on load changes. They confirmed switching to TOU would cost me more, a lot more, overall. I would need to be driving EV a ton for it to make sense. This is not engagement bait. This is fact that Tesla fan bois want to deny.

Even with $7 gas in California, you will only save $7 per year driving a Tesla $TSLA. Unless you want to drive 20 mins away, after 1 am, to sit in a parking lot and maybe get 35-40 cents kWh. If not, you are paying 48-57 cents kWh during normal times people live their lives. EVs are a total scam for fuel savings. Your savings are reduced maintenance costs, that’s it.

Eric Swalwell was the only candidate who couldn't or wouldn't name a single thing that Gavin Newsom has gotten wrong as Governor. Empty Eric Swalwell is one of the most ret*rded people to ever be in American politics. If CA elects this absolute fool as Governor, shame on them. While running for Governor in 2018, Newsom campaigned on fixing two main issues, homelessness and affordability. Both problems have gotten substantially worse during his tenure as Governor. Not to mention the dozens of disaster projects that have gone no where. Or the fires he wasn't prepared for. Or the rampant fraud.
