A month since I won the @StateIVLP Impact Award, I’m delighted to announce the Gender and Education Parity Advocacy Project (GEPAP)—a grassroots initiative funded by @StateDept to address girl-child education challenges and promote education equality in North Central Nigeria.

I played host to the report launch of The Gender and Education Parity Advocacy Project (GEPAP) which equipped young development advocates and activists with skills to address the high rate of out-of-school children, especially girls in the North-Central Region. In commemoration of Women's Month and #IWD – and in keeping with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to gender mainstreaming – my office is organising a conference aimed at examining young women's leadership across different sectors, namely: Politics & Governance, Business & Tech, and Youth & Student-led movements. The event is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, March 27 at NAF Conference Centre, Abuja (God willing), and the overarching aim is to gain proper insight into the experiences of young women in the highlighted sectors with a view to influencing policies, laws and initiatives that would enhance young women's participation in those areas. The traditional and religious leaders have pivotal roles to play in securing the future of the girl child with education. I’m proud of our concerted efforts to get them into more action for #GirlsEducation. Thanks to the #GEPAPfellows, @StateIVLP and our partner @MeridianIntl.

Through these engagements, we witnessed firsthand the positive ripple effect that education can have on communities. It was a reminder that, collectively, we can create a foundation for growth, empowerment, and lasting change.

In each community, we delved into heartfelt discussions, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities that girls' education presents. The genuine warmth and openness of the local residents made these conversations truly enriching.
