Pioneered: first internet search engine (OpenText), compilers (Watcom), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (Certicom), GPUs (ATI), smart phones (RIM/Blackberry), Optical Networking (Nortel) and modern deep learning (UofT Hinton Lab). Punches way above it's weight on R&D. Needs more respect.
