All roads lead back to... - Finding a biz that's already profitable - Buying it from an owner who's tired of running it - Using seller financing so you're not writing a giant check - Plugging in AI + a great operator - Letting the cash flow pay down the deal - Rolling the distributions into the next one - Repeating until your businesses pay for your life

I want to address what happened to Neeraj and me last week. Of course, it was quite shocking to us as well and honestly very disheartening. But today, we want to talk about what actually happened and more importantly, what we’re going to do about it. On March 21, we were taken into police custody in connection with a fraud complaint. Three days later, on March 24, a Thane court granted us bail, finding that prima facie, no case was made out against us. The fraud at the centre of this complaint was carried out through a fake website - "coindcx.pro" by impersonators who have absolutely no connection to our platform, our systems, or CoinDCX. No money moved through CoinDCX. No transaction occurred on our exchange. The complainant himself confirmed in court that he did not know us and had never met us. I'll be honest: our experience was deeply unsettling. Not because we doubted the facts -- we knew from the first moment that this had nothing to do with us. But because it made something painfully clear: the ecosystem we operate in doesn't yet have the tools to tell the difference between the people building this industry responsibly and the people exploiting it. Think about what this precedent means: if a scammer uses your brand, your name, your face in a fake website and defrauds someone, you can be arrested. Not the scammer. You. This Could Happen to Any founder, Any Business. That has to change. And we've decided that CoinDCX will lead that change - not with words, but with actions. Today, we are announcing Digital Suraksha Network (D.S.N.) - a ₹100 crore commitment from CoinDCX to build the cyber safety infrastructure that India's digital finance ecosystem needs but does not yet have. This is not a crypto problem. This is a problem across any company which has a digital footprint. Here's what we're building: → 24x7 WhatsApp helpline: free for everyone, not just CoinDCX users, to verify links, platforms, and offers before you transact. → Open Fraud Intelligence API: We have already documented 1,200+ fraudulent websites impersonating CoinDCX. That data sat inside our systems. Not anymore. We're building an open API to share this intelligence in real time and inviting every exchange, fintech, bank, and digital lender to contribute. A shared immune system for India's digital finance ecosystem. → Cyber Safety Infrastructure for Law Enforcement: The Digital Suraksha Network will fund training programmes for state cybercrime cells on blockchain forensics and digital asset tracing. → "Caution Before Transaction": a nationwide initiative to give every Indian the tools to participate in digital finance safely. We know that no single company can solve this. Fraud networks are sophisticated, cross-border, and evolving daily. Nowadays, they make use of AI that makes them exponentially harder to catch. But someone has to start to fix this problem from the root. We are putting ₹100 crore on the table because the ecosystem cannot afford to wait. I am asking every platform, every regulator, and every Indian who participates in digital finance to join us. We want to ensure that anyone building startups in India like us can do so with confidence, and not with fear.

I have to say this interview changed my life. Hearing how Boris thinks about software spurred me to work much harder on releasing my own way of doing things and on iterating fast on how I build. Hard to believe it has only been a month since this one.

I started looking at Western Union because I thought stablecoins would kill it. Then I realized WU is better positioned than almost anyone to leverage them. Brand, distribution, 200+ countries, $923M in EBITDA. The key risk was management. They had been skeptical of stablecoins. I placed the bet in November. Since then WU has not only outperformed Solana but the broader market: WU +2.14% / SPX -6.76% / Nasdaq -11.66% / SOL -56.15% WU is a $2.8B market cap business trading at 6x earnings with a 10% dividend yield. Remitly trades at 50x on a 2.3% operating margin. Wise at 23x. The discount exists because WU revenue is declining 3.8% while both are growing 25%+. I am not fighting that. But at 6x earnings you are paying for zero recovery, zero tech adoption, zero optionality. That is the margin of safety. I was at the @blockworksDAS this week. The WU CEO was on the same stage. Very different energy from the one I had been following. Clear on the stablecoin strategy, talking about flipping negative float into positive float. They have since announced USDPT, their own stablecoin on Solana. For a 175-year-old company to go from skepticism to launching on Solana in under a year is a meaningful shift. Of course, there is plenty of execution risk. The bear case was always that they would not act. They are acting - and that alone warrants a repricing. The math I ran back in November when I placed the bet was: lose ~20-30%, cushioned by $500M in net income and a 10% dividend. Re-rate to Wise multiples and it is 4 to 5x. I am not betting on convergence. I am betting the market prices zero probability of it, and I will get paid for getting a free option. WU is part of a broader thesis that led me to start @inversion_cap: acquiring businesses with distribution at attractive prices. There is a lot of embedded optionality in those businesses. Not all will act in time. Some will die. But the ones that do will meaningfully outperform, and those gains will more than outweigh the losses. You reduce that risk meaningfully when you control that business. The greatest beneficiaries of cost-reducing technology like AI and crypto are not the startups building it. They are the incumbents with distribution that adopt it. WU is one of many. Full piece on Substack: open.substack.com/pub/obviously/… @HadickM double or nothing? Market settles November 1, 2026. DISCL: Long WU. Long SOL. NFA.

How to profit from the AI boom without writing a single line of code: 1. Get into a trade or service-based business -HVAC -Plumbing -Electrical -Pest control -Window cleaning These need a licensed body on-site. Nobody has figured out how to automate a clogged drain at 11pm on a Tuesday. 2. Become the person who services AI's dirty work In 2024 alone, $455 billion was invested in data centers. These building all have real (expensive) problems that require trained electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians to fix. 3. Use AI to become the smartest person in your current job @amasad, CEO of Replit, told me about a guy at a skincare company who needed to automate 30-40 hours of weekly ops work. He was quoted $150,000 by a software vendor, so he spent $400 on Replit and built it himself in two weeks. His boss now pays him $30,000 a year for the software. He never quit his job, he just became indispensable. 4. Buy a cash-flowing boring business instead of building from scratch Two Contrarian Academy members, Anthony and Alex, just bought a 45-year-old window distribution company in San Diego. -High single-digit millions in revenue -Virtually no inventory -15-20% margins -4 employees That business has been running since before most AI companies existed. It'll still be running when the next model drops. 5. Do the unscalable human thing everyone else is automating away Every competitor you have is about to flood every scalable channel with 700 automated messages a day that nobody reads. The bar for standing out is getting embarrassingly low. A business that shows up, remembers names, and sends the handwritten note will out-loyalty every automated competitor in its zip code. 6. Get into the right rooms Two other Academy members, Anthony and Alex, met in a mastermind. That one relationship led to a hotel, a hard lesson on cash flow, and eventually a business that replaced both their W-2 incomes... Every single thing on this list is easier when you're around people who are actually doing it rather than just talking about it.

The only book an entrepreneur needs.
Eric Jorgenson 📚 ☀️@EricJorgenson

🚨📕 THE BOOK OF ELON IS NOW LIVE!!! 🎉🚀 This is the book we WISHED @elonmusk would write… “All of Elon's most useful ideas, in his own words.” Learn directly from the world’s greatest entrepreneur, like you’re sitting across from him at dinner. It took FIVE YEARS to make this for you. Because it's built from hundreds and hundreds of Elon's public appearances. I went through 3,000,000+ words to collect the most useful and timeless ideas. The final book is ~50,000 words. Every word is USEFUL. (This is what I do. My first book, The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, is one of the top 100 most highlighted books of all time on Kindle.) Then, I spent $50,000+ on editing and design so it looks and feels beautiful. Then… > Foreword by @naval. > Visuals by @jackbutcher. > Blurb from @mrbeast. > Published by @scribemediaco. > And yes, approval on this idea from Elon himself, thanks to @samteller. I went Maximum Effort to make this an all-timer. We got 10/10 on reviews from early readers, then worked on it for ANOTHER YEAR. Why so much effort? My mission is to create One Million Musks. For a generation to lift our gaze and build, so our grandchildren live in a world beyond our wildest dreams. I’m an independent author. I don’t get an advance. I risk my own time and money to make these books. Then we give away millions of them. Digital versions are free. I believe this book can benefit every human, and if you can’t pay five bucks for it, I want to personally gift it to you. Because I know it is useful. Useful how? You may be seeking purpose, a mission worthy of your life’s effort. You may have a clear purpose and seek the tools for success. You will find both in this book. Get the benefits of Elon’s entire life of hard-won lessons in a five-hour, easy read. (I checked, it’s a 5th-grade reading level.) You’ll feel personally mentored by the greatest entrepreneur in history. Click below to buy it now on Amazon, Audible, or directly from me. Amazon: amzn.to/47avSuh Audible: lnkd.in/gi_7HrFP Me: lnkd.in/gS2xWUWH If you’re not sure it’s worth $4.99 yet, just start reading the free version. PLEASE take 6 seconds to Like, Bookmark, and Repost. Even better: send this to your friends, team, or Group Chats! I guarantee this book will improve their lives. Spread the word! Every little thing helps. Your support spreads good ideas around the world, helping people and making the future better for everyone. Thank you! Forward. Together.

🚨BREAKING: ANTHROPIC IS GIVING AWAY THE SAME CERTIFICATION THAT DELOITTE IS MASS-TRAINING 15,000 EMPLOYEES TO GET. It costs $0. You need a laptop. That's it. It's called the "Claude Certified Architect." Think of it like the AWS cert but for AI. If you were around when AWS certs started, you know what happened. They went from "cool to have" to "you're not getting hired without one." That took about 5 years. This is going to happen way faster. Look at who's already moving: Accenture - training 30,000 people on Claude Cognizant - rolled it out to 350,000 employees Deloitte - opened Claude access to 470,000 people Infosys - anchor partner These aren't startups experimenting. These are billion dollar consulting firms restructuring their entire workforce around Claude. And the certification they need? You can take it right now from your bedroom. Let me be real though. This is not one of those "watch 2 videos and get a badge" type certs that nobody respects. This thing is hard. 60 questions. 2 hours. Proctored. Webcam on. No breaks. No googling. They drop you into real scenarios like designing a customer support agent that handles refunds or setting up Claude in a CI/CD pipeline. The wrong answers look right on purpose. They're the exact mistakes real engineers make in production. 720 out of 1000 to pass. People who took it are saying the agentic architecture and multi-agent orchestration sections are brutal. Most of the exam is about building AI systems that actually work in the real world. Not prompting. Not chatting with Claude. Architecting production systems. All the prep? Free. Anthropic put out 13 courses on their Academy. No paywall. The cert itself is free for the first 5,000 people. After that $99 per attempt. How to get it: 1. Join the Claude Partner Network (free) → partnerportal.anthropic.com 2. Start the free prep courses → anthropic.com/learn 3. Register for the exam → anthropic.skilljar.com 4. Take the official practice exam 5. Book the real one when you're ready It launched 10 days ago. Almost nobody has it yet. That's the whole point. Get it before it becomes the thing everyone has.
