After a second run with Aircall, glad to introduce my new co, @surveywellapp. We're building the best satisfaction surveys for online brands. Not only that, but we help re-engage promoters to drive reviews and social proof.

@CeciStalls This. You’ve highlighted the core tradeoff behind the use of agentic writing. It’s not just about how AI writes the draft. It’s how AI reconfigures your brain to edit it. My honest read — books as analog saviors. (Jk aside, been enjoying vintage ad copy for that reason!)

@Jakob_Wahlberg Due to kids perhaps? (I vaguely remember seeing an old tweet of yours about kids). Same here, and not sure what triggered it, I think kids. Did not really train for it. 10x less introspective and anxious than when younger, aside from some bigger grown up stuff sometimes.

One of my biggest personal changes is that I never listen to science podcasts anymore, nor do I gravitate towards rumination about existential/philosophy stuff. It’s not really a decision but rather a symptom of feeling more content in presence. It’s great.

Should have a word for the first time s/o experiences AI being better at workflows and starts being lazy about understanding interfaces. Is chat always > clicks? No. But it is increasingly tough to ask to people today to login, click, figure it out, even in top tier UI.

IMO backlash abt @linear chat is short sighted. Currently - irl - observing many highly intelligent, technical peers stuck. "Connect the integration, sort 10 issues and do the automation" is 100x better than clicking around. @karrisaarinen @thenanyu keep it up :)

@thenanyu Waymo, Waze can chain complex actions based on broad instructions? To me, asking (!) « I want to go there » and getting directions, map and local recos feel agentic. Rice cooker… a useful tool. It’d be agentic if it ordered the rice, fetched/opened the box, put water in…

Hoisting this from the depths of hell bc it needs to be said. There are unbelievable amounts of opportunity for consumer agents if you think about it for like 10 minutes. People are busy. Why? They're doing stuff that they don't want to do.
yoni rechtman@yrechtman

Growing suspicion that there are vanishingly few use cases for consumer agents. People don’t do work in their personal lives. The only people who do are sf dorks using spreadsheets to plan trips to tahoe

@thenanyu Can I Waze is a map “agent”? Both can be true: - optimizing daily life is not for everyone - our lives are filled with stuff agents could do/help with so we can be happier. Form matters. Personally, I believe in robots a lot. Planning a meal < cooking it. Elderly care etc…

@ivanhzhao your FR site has translated product screenshots on some pages (really nice touch). Others don’t e.g. enterprise search :(. Testing out a design + pmm service focused on that. Product screenshots localisation sprints, by a human (me). Could the team be interested?

@Kazanjy What are examples of broadly applicable phase 1 strategies? Hiring signals? Networking? Inbound? Have seen a few methods work at Aircall, and there are always niche creative tactics, but I've found it hard to "seek companies with [pain]" reliably before engaging.

Founders: Your prospect research should have two phases: 1. Find companies with your pain point 2. Find the exact person who owns that pain Don't reverse the order. Pain presence before people.

@mschoening It’s ok when done to help users, but 99% it’s to help some corporate goal or team. How much can you analyze in terms of page content etc… while being mindful of privacy? Feels like the first few words I write + enrichment + llm could rapidly help AI classify me these days.

It's just such a buzzkill to answer these questions right after signing up. Imagine walking into a store to buy a cassette tape and at the door they ask you how you heard about the store and what you do for a living, and whether your household has 0-5 or 5+ kids. Fuck off!

@vsodera @Superhuman Yeah, I just can’t go back. Too much email to settle for a clunky client. Would feel like downgrading my mattress lol. (BTW, recently, the cal sync to accept invite has been redirecting to Gmail, failing to auto add to cal and mark as yes/no. Annoying. Haven’t opened ticket)

Folks inevitably complain about the price (at $1/day, prosumers should value their time), announce going back to Gmail, spend 5 min in Gmail, remember it’s incredibly subpar, & come back to @Superhuman. Tale as old as time. Note: Speed + UX drive retention against incumbents.
Packy McCormick@packyM

Ok props to Alexandra at Superhuman who is getting to the bottom of the issue and remedied it to restore access in the short term. Gmail wasn't great. Superhuman is back.

@asmartbear we found an issue scraping a site, wrong hostname for URLs in WPE sitemaps (by Yoast). E.g. [domain dot wpenginepowered dot com/] instead of [domain dot io/yadayada]. Not sure if on you, Yoast or client, but reporting just in case! Happy to DM site details as FYI!

@bhalligan Thanks Brian. Had never thought of it while at Aircall. Strong idea. An iPad, some cool device, or a mix of both. Like square for hotel phones? Or, just a QR code lol. Not sure hardware phone providers offer great local support anymore, but phone network does feel reliable.

I wish some entrepreneurs would get distracted from ai agents and fix some of this old, irritating tech: 1. Sonos 2. Cell network 3. Bluetooth 4. Printers (you need em once in awhile and they never work) 5. Hotel telephones 6. Nest 7. Leaf blowers (Fall in New England) 8. TVs

@skuwamoto @figma I don’t find it hard to use (now, after years using it) but new features over the past ~year did add complexity (not a grid fan for instance). If (2), focus on simplifying for audience not familiar with other dev / css / design tools (‘Figma natives’?) plz. So (2) but (1) :)

Hi folks. Quick @figma question. If you had to choose, would you rather us work on... 1) Making auto layout easier to understand and use 2) Adding features to make auto layout more powerful (e.g., proportional sizing of children)?

@dharmesh Do you think being a synthesis of competitors is good positioning? Probably a nice brainstorm but need to go beyond that to be truly great IMO. battledesk dot ai can do some of that, sending you a weekly newsletter on competitor web changes, fueling vibe coding inspo.

This is legit brilliant. Made my night. I'm now going to have to resist the temptation to build an agent that automates those steps. :) You put in your existing website URL, and it returns an optimized new one. I could also monetize it by only returning a screenshot of the new home page in the free version and the premium version gives you all the HTML and assets. Maybe even export it to HubSpot's CMS or Webflow.

Me today with strong CMO at $40m ARR company: "I built you a new marketing site in @Replit. I just had 20 minutes during a board meeting, what do you think." CMO: "Woah. That's a lot better than we have today. How did you do it?" Me: "I vibe'd it in @Replit. First I analyzed everything strong about your competitors' sites in Claude. Then I took that output and gave it to Replit and told it to remake your site using that, and the top 5 reasons customers buy from your #1 competitor." CMO: "Wow. Do you have the number for this Replit guy? It took how long?" Me: "There's no 'guy'. I vibe'd it myself during the boring parts of a board meeting. Your board meeting. I had about 15 minutes." (True story)

Hey @NotionHQ @ivanhzhao is this an accurate depiction of what the team's been up to? We follow Notion and companies we respect to test Battledesk, our new competitive intel product. I'd love to know if our AI made mistakes. (Soon we'll integrate to push updates in Notion :)
