Honored to have @aaron_reitz’s endorsement for Attorney General. Aaron ran a great campaign, tirelessly crisscrossing Texas. With his experience, he knows Texas needs a conservative fighter who knows how to win — and not anti-Trump Chip Roy.

We engaged in a spirited primary competition for Texas Attorney General. But now is the time to unite around our next champion. I’m proud to endorse @mayes_middleton for AG! Full statement below👇

At JFK Airport, as travelers waited in hours-long lines, an infant became unresponsive and stopped breathing. The panic of the child’s family and nearby passengers were heard by an ICE agent stationed at a checkpoint. This heroic officer immediately sprang into action—rushing toward the cries, taking the child, and performing a Heimlich maneuver that restored the infant’s breathing after nearly two minutes. This officer’s extraordinary bravery embodies the selfless service of DHS law enforcement.

Today, I issued interim charges for House committees of the 89th Texas Legislature to guide our work ahead of the next legislative session in 2027. These priorities build on our recent progress, strengthen accountability in government, reduce inefficiencies, and ensure key initiatives are carried out as intended—while laying the foundation for a strong 90th Legislative Session. Thank you to our committee chairs and all who contributed their insight throughout this process. Together, we will continue advancing the freedom and opportunity that drives Texas. #txlege

Today, we honor the heroes who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in defense of our nation. The extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and unwavering patriotism of those who have received our country’s highest military honor represent the very best of America. Their stories remind us that freedom is never free. May we always strive to be a state and nation worthy of their sacrifice.

A man in Austin had two felony knife assault charges. He beat his girlfriend and smashed her phone when she tried calling 911. He pulled a gun on strangers at a 7-Eleven -- no charges. His bond was reduced to $1. Three months later he assaulted a pregnant woman.

AUSTIN MAN pulls a gun on strangers at a 7-Eleven with a toddler in his car and gives cops a fake name -- all while out on bond for two felony knife assault charges against a pregnant woman. Deontae Jones: In November 2024, he spent a day shoving his girlfriend into walls. When she slips into the garage to call 911, he follows her, grabs the phone out of her hand, and smashes it on the ground. Then leaves before police arrive. The next night: Jones backs his BMW into another car at a 7-Eleven on Airport Blvd and flees. When the other driver catches up to him, Jones grabs a Taurus 9mm in his pocket and tells him he's going to shoot him. When the man's girlfriend starts recording his license plate, Jones turns on her: "I should shoot you." A three-year-old is in his car. Jones gives police a fake name when they catch him. Gun found in trunk. DA José Garza's office filed no charges on the gun. That arrest came with an active warrant for two felony knife assaults on a pregnant woman from three months earlier. Jones had been out on bond he hadn't answered for. In Dec 2025, while wearing a GPS ankle monitor, under a stay-away order: shows up at the victim's home at 11pm. She won't open the door. He kicks it until the hinges break and the frame splinters. She and her children run upstairs. Next month: Does it again, same house, same door. GPS records confirm he was there. Two weeks later: bond on the knife assault case -- reduced to $1. Travis County has had this man in its system since 2011. Burglary of a habitation, family violence with prior convictions, felony evading -- deferred, discharged, dismissed. 0 prison time.

Liberal activist judges and prosecutors are letting dangerous criminals go free. Governor Abbott is holding them accountable, calling for a Chief State Prosecutor & cracking down on easy bail policies. The State will not back down from keeping Texans safe.

Our @CLEAT press release from February of 2022 aged well. Same facts, same political persecution, same misconduct by our DA. Over 4 years ago 🤯

Texas will NOT be soft on crime. DA Jose Garza freed Anita Byington's murderer and had taxpayers pay him millions in compensation. That's why Governor Abbott is calling for a chief state prosecutor, to hold rogue DAs accountable and give victims' families the justice they're owed.

MAJOR UPDATE: We’ve filed a motion in Travis County, TX, requesting a COURT OF INQUIRY into DA Jose Garza & top aides for hiding evidence in APD Officer Chance Bretches’ assault case. But what is a Court of Inquiry? It’s a rare, powerful tool under Texas law (Code of Criminal Procedure Ch. 52) where a district judge investigates if a crime was committed—especially involving public officials or misconduct.   Here, it’s sought to probe into evidence tampering & official oppression by the DA’s office, including secret negotiations with the City of Austin kept from the defense. If probable cause is found, it could lead to arrests or grand jury action. This isn’t a trial, but a critical step to uncover truth & ensure accountability. Check out the Motion: lavender-brynn-86.tiiny.site Is justice at stake in Travis County? Demand answers now! #TexasJustice #CourtofInquiry #ProsecutorialMisconduct #JusticeForBretches

I’m deeply honored to have the backing of The Texas Municipal Police Association, Houston Police Officers’ Union, Dallas Police Association, and the Harris County Deputies’ Organization. Together, they represent tens of thousands of law enforcement officers across Texas who serve on the front lines protecting our communities every day. They deserve, and must have, an AG who always has their back. These officers are the brave men and women who risk everything to keep our families safe. @TMPALegislative @HPOUTX @hcdofop39

Before most mass attacks, attackers often show concerning behaviors or exhibit signs that they are on a path to violence. You may be in a unique position to observe these signs in someone you know. Knowing the signs and sharing your concerns could be the key to preventing an attack of mass violence in your community. Learn more at fbi.gov/prevent.

Garza is coming after two more solid APD officers in the coming months. Both CLEAT members. One officer’s trial begins in June and the other in August. As he continues his attempts to put our brave officers behind bars, @CLEAT continues providing our members with the best legal team we can put forward.

Elections are one of our greatest privileges we have thanks to the men and women who wear a uniform, and ultimately give their lives, so we may have the freedoms to elect our representatives. @mayes_middleton has earned my vote and support to be our next Texas Attorney General for he understands this and will fight to ensure our freedoms and rights are not infringed upon.

You certainly love to perform for the cameras…comical you would put this out… Considering during your time in Congress you actively opposed and sabotaged the “Protect and Serve Act” which would have been a “tool” to allow federal prosecutors to take cases where police officers were assaulted, shot, stabbed, murdered out of the local rogue DA’s hands.

Nearly one Houstonian EVERY 10 DAYS is murdered by a repeat felon released back onto the streets. That is unacceptable in Texas. We must use and expand every tool available to remove recalcitrant DAs and keep violent criminals off our streets.
