@SebastianTA I managed 09R on a QR 777 not so long ago, it’s uncommon but generally only happens in the early morning. My best was a 09L departure with QF a few years ago, it completed the set for me!

@SebastianTA Ever since the Cranford Agreement was rescinded in 2009, @HeathrowAirport has been dragging its feet. Otherwise communities under the approach to the 09s could by now be benefitting from the same respite as those under the 27 approaches, and 09R landings would be commonplace.

@AlanJones0 @loulou12395997 @JSS779 Likewise who are you to tell airlines what staff should and shouldn't receive as perks. Think you have influence? Go fly someone else if it causes you so much grief.

@AlanJones0 @loulou12395997 @JSS779 It's the same across many airlines. The staff only get the premium seats if they are available on the day. If they're misbehaving then complaints will be taken seriously/suspension of ST privileges. It should be none of your business otherwise as you have got what you paid for

@loulou12395997 @JSS779 Exactly. BA Club World flight to Male with 10+ BA crew and family last year. I get the free perks but business class is a step too far.

@loulou12395997 @JSS779 Do let us know what perks you get for your job, so we can equally assess whether you should get them. You shouldn't be able to tell whether you're sat next to staff or not on a flight. If they're making a scene then it's your right to complain. Else it is none of your business.

@JSS779 I think it devalues what you have paid high fares for. Are you a BA employee?

@MikeMedFly It really will be the end of the DXB project if th Iranians get lucky just once with an A380 and that doesn’t bear thinking about. Credibility could be achieved with a defined pause - stop/start multiple times a day can’t go on - and how is the insurance risk here?

Once again Dubai is playing with civilian lives. Massive explosions went off today. Dubai airport had to temporarily shut down. Flights heading to Dubai were diverted to Doha and Muscat. There was mid air panic. Departures were also paused. More international airlines are suspending their flights after this incident. Not sure why Dubai Airport is still operating when the threat level is high. This is clearly business over human life. Dubai airport should be shut down for at least a year and a half. Here's the worst part. Many locals are afraid to talk about any of this. They fear they will be arrested.

@yourownkanoo @jamiebsmith European airlines are hardly acting irrationally then! The situation at DXB has already been normalised by some individuals.

@redrocket551 @jamiebsmith Indeed. Four people injured only this morning by drone attacks. Passengers and staff told to shelter in place again. Incident came just hours after flights were suspended late on Tuesday night.

Back after 4 days to say we don’t be back until ‘later in the month’ with AUH postponed until next season. While Emirates have managed 12 departures to the UK today. Shocking Glad my friend didn’t listen to my initial advice of ‘wait, they’ll be back soon’ and booked on Emirates.

@yourownkanoo @jamiebsmith Virgin Atlantic also stopped flights after the weekend's drone attack on DXB. Glad to see the matter is taken seriously and as seen today, the airport is still a target.

Hmmm, let’s see what other airlines have ‘shockingly’ not returned to DXB yet: Lufthansa ❌ Air France ❌ KLM ❌ Iberia ❌ United ❌ Finnair ❌ Cathay Pacific ❌ But you could have driven 4 hours to Muscat. No shade against Emirates but clearly there are a number of airlines that have a different risk assessment to operating to DXB at the morning… dunno why 🤦‍♂️

@AirlinePilotmax Important clarification. This route only ran till the end of the month anyway. It's seasonal. It doesn't run in the summer schedules. Hence the cancellation till the end of the year.

British Airways has suspended all scheduled operations to Abu Dhabi with effect immediately and indefinitely through the remainder of calendar year 2026. No—not next week. Not next month. The rest of the bloody year. All pax bookings are grounded until further notice. Safety first, sitrep ongoing. Stand by for updates from command (BA ops centre).

There is every chance that if Trump decides to use a nuclear weapon against Iran it will bd delivers on a B2 bomber flying from an American air base in the U.K. You OK with that?

.@IndiGo6E has resumed its London service today using the @flynorse B787-9, but with a significant detour. As these aircraft are registered in Europe, they fall under guidance of the European aviation regulator who has recommended airspace over Middle East to be avoided. #AvGeek

@Vinamralongani @IndiGo6E @flynorse Unfortunately with an Indian Carrier and a Norwegian registered aircraft both the Northern route through Pakistan/Afghanistan is out of action and same with Saudi Penninsula. Worst of both worlds for Norse and Indigo.
