During yesterday's Notion Consulting Bootcamp Deep Dive, I realized just how much I was complicating email campaigns. So, we went back to first principles on one question: How do we build on the right relationships to turn passive audiences into strategic clients? Last month I checked my Notion Marketplace stats: 312 template downloads. I immediately thought: I know absolutely nothing about my users. So I built a dead-simple automation (took me less than an hour): 🔗 Webhook from @NotionHQ Marketplace → Relay 💾 @relay saves to my Notion database 🐝 @beehiiv sends a 7-email sequence Once you get the hang of sending to specific segments (VC templates vs. consultant templates), momentum builds itself. Most consultants rely solely on referrals and relationships. Both of these are critical, but they're capped. Building up your email list via offering free templates massively expands your network, and gives you the ability to test different market segments. When someone downloads your template, they're literally raising their hand saying "I have this problem and I think this solves it." Start simple: Welcome email (same day) Check-in email (day 2) Quick win tip (day 5) Gradually introduce services/benefits (day 7+) That's it. A handful of emails. Automated.
