@Fiona_M @contechristino @BBC That actually happened on Thursday (it’s an old video) and it was a miscommunication error that was resolved promptly. Tonight he was surrounded by the team the whole night.

@contechristino Thats how shallow and contemptable some British people have become. I hope his 'team' (who clearly have no idea what it means) get told a few home truths and look inside themselves. Scattering and disassociating like a bunch of cowardly rats. #eurovision2026 @bbc

Today, a 2nd-year med student asked me why we can't completely clear HIV from the body like other viruses and the answer is the closest thing to a horror movie in modern medicine

Genuine question: if every major company starts scanning their entire codebase with Claude Code (auth flows, security logic, vuln patches, all of it) isn’t that a massive privacy concern? Anthropic would theoretically get visibility into the core product logic and security infrastructure for huge chunks of the world. Even with enterprise “no training” promises and zero-retention policies, that’s a lot of trust to place in a single vendor. Am I overthinking this, or is it actually problematic?

Anyone else get a few @monzo login emails overnight that they never asked for? Bunch of folk on Reddit (including myself) have reddit.com/r/monzo/s/5var… (emails are legit login emails from the headers)

@Mannie197657274 @zone_astronomy While the meeting won’t fail, IF it did fail the craft would just complete its orbit around the earth (head back home). It’d just take a lot longer to do so.

To think that we aren't just going "to the Moon," but rather traveling to meet it at an exact point in space... changes everything. It all comes down to orbital mechanics: arriving at the precise location, at the precise moment. One tiny error... and it simply doesn't happen

@hohhle @Strife212 A lot of folk didn’t as one of the main reasons for using those regions was data sovereignty laws. Saudi/UAE not allowing you to store/process data on citizens outside their country. So many just backed up to other AWS accounts in the same region.

@lukeherbert @dan_mosey @Mark19632 @British_Airways well yeah, because then you can choose to fly without WiFi or change the flight to one that does have it if it’s vital for your flight. The point is BA does have WiFi on longhaul routes but is out of service on that plane for whatever reason not sure what else BA can do?

@philotheis49253 @DoDataThings @GergelyOrosz yeah that's a crazy take. Sure they may not need a chatbot 24/7 but if they're building products that utilise Anthropics APIs it can have a significant impact. Thankfully some of Anthropics reliability can be mitigated by using the same models on Bedrock or Vertex

@DoDataThings @GergelyOrosz What are you talking about of course enterprise clients need always on. If a business promises a 24/7 support agent and it goes down in the middle of a call that’s a pissed off client and revenue lost.

On one end, the Anthropic team is a massive user of AI to write code (80%+ of all code deployed is written by Claude Code). They ship amazingly fast. On the other hand, seeing these beyond terrible reliability numbers suggests there might be a downside to all this speed:

Probably the worst UX in Claude Code is that screen after it goes in plan mode. It does like, do you want to continue in dangerously skip permissions mode? It's like, obviously, yes. and with clearing context? obviously no. cc @bcherny

@BlueCrystais @SurrealistShip It’s a thing for international arrivals into US airports (so not TSA more CBP). A minority of people being asked to unlock their phones. It is definitely happening even if rare. Other countries are updating their travel advice accordingly as cases rise cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

@sdbrownlie @thdxr That was my first thought/worry as well, seems like it could be a move against the growing competition of 3rd party harnesses, because they wish to protect their own Claude Code product??

are we misunderstanding this? the implication is you can't insert any content that anthropic didn't know to have generated this breaks things like switching models mid session and a dozen other things harnesses rely on i switch between claude and gpt all the time :(
