@myretrolifeshow I’m keeping mine. I do plan on getting a Switch 2 soon before the price raise. As for PC, I mostly play just emulators and PC games 2005 and early.

I'm thinking of selling my PS5. Just kind of disgusted with Sony and modern gaming in general. My daughter and I love our Switch 2 and she barely plays anything on PlayStation. Anyone else feeling the same way?

@LikeToBeBossy Until the inevitable happens, future games I get from PS5 will be physical such as this. There’s still a few PS3/4 physical games I would like to get but it’ll have to wait until my next pay.

Wolverine hasn’t even released yet, and the physical PS5 copy is already €5 cheaper at my local retailer than on the PlayStation Store.

If Sony backtrack and reverse their decision to scrap physical games, this whole ordeal will still leave a very bad taste in a lot of gamers mouth. No physical meant I was quite happy to skip the PS6. Even If Sony change their minds, i'll probably still skip it. Fuck 'em.

@Pirat_Nation And if they did backtrack, that’s only going to be more money wasted on producing discs, which is already expensive enough to do as it is, and that’s what’s easily overlooked.

Sony’s stock rose more than 3% after the company announced it will stop releasing new PlayStation games on physical discs starting in January 2028. Apparently, investors see the move as a way for Sony to increase profits, as selling games digitally eliminates the costs. Sony said nearly 80% of full-game sales on PS4 and PS5 are already digital, up from 13% when the PS4 launched in 2013. I don't think they will walk back on this decision even with all the backlash.

@MrWrightWays I’m an old collector myself but I don’t lose sleep over it. Shoot, we both know Xbox will follow suit and Nintendo will have no choice but to do it too.

As long as you have a high enough SSD like I do at 8TB, I’ll have no need to delete games, except easy trophy shovelware.

I intend to purchase every physical media game released until December 2027, after which I will cease buying games. I will never purchase a PS5 digital game. I don’t care about the fear of missing out because I would rather invest money in owning a physical copy of a game than spend money on a digital game that I will never possess.

Alright #GamingCommunity I have two questions for you with the news that PlayStation is stopping all physical games in 2028 which I would say that is probably when you see the ps6 And yes the writing was on the wall but still that has me wondering a couple things 1- does that stop you from getting a ps6 2- does that up the value of games on physical media meaning we should all start buying it all?
