I’m sorry but shit like this is what drives me away from this sport. Absolutely preferential treatment to the “elite”. I requested the name Marcus Aurelius, I wear a coin of him around my neck… I was told by jockey club I couldn’t name it even though it was available because it sounded too similar to another name … but guess who was allowed to Fuckin use it? Baffert. Rules for me but not for thee. Go fuck yourself @jockeyclub . Bunch of corrupt ass clowns . @RepoleStable . Here’s the proof and correspondence. Absolutely embarrassing to part of this game sometimes @BobBaffert .

🚨MUST READ: Attached is a letter from @aronwellman7 detailing his firsthand experience in a meeting with the @JockeyClub last week at OBS. On the surface, it’s a strong letter. It captures Aron’s real frustration trying to work directly with the Evil Empire, The Jockey Club. But after sitting with it, it’s not encouraging. It’s sad. It’s upsetting. It’s devastating for an industry and a sport that so many people love. Aron chose not to name the stewards in the room, but I will. He met with Terry Finley, Bill Farish, and Jim Gagliano. For over three years, I’ve felt the same anger and frustration Aron lays out. The brutally honest truth is this: it’s not that the Jockey Club doesn’t understand the problems, and it’s not that they can’t fix them. They know exactly what they’re doing. They just don’t care about you, the industry, or most importantly, the horse. Jim Gagliano might be a nice guy personally. But professionally, he has been ineffective, incompetent, and damaging to this industry. The Jockey Club stewards are largely made up of blue bloods and pheasant hunters. They are mostly made up of frauds, and 90% of us in the industry see it now. Stuart Janney, the previous chairman, had a dispersal sale two years ago and still sits on the Board of Stewards while also serving on the NYRA board. Nothing changes. Our new chairman, Everett Dobson, seems like another nice guy who talks a good game but refuses to take real action. Just weeks ago, he stood at the National HBPA Conference calling for unity and collaboration. That would mean a lot more if it wasn’t coming from someone who helps control every major lever of power in the sport. Last week, I exposed the real Puppetmaster behind much of this, Bill Lear, a man whose influence stretches across the Jockey Club, Keeneland, HISA, Breeders’ Cup, TOBA, NTRA, and beyond. And now, from multiple sources, the panic is setting in. Kentucky legislators are paying attention. They’re tired of the control, the conflicts, and the lack of accountability. House Bill 904, and its proposed amendment, could change everything. It would limit the Jockey Club’s ability to impose a mare cap and, more importantly, open the door for an alternate breed registry in Kentucky. If that happens, their monopoly is in jeopardy. For decades, owners and breeders have been forced to hand over their data and operate under a system with no real choice and no real recourse. That may finally change. It’s taken a long time to get here, but the momentum is real. And make no mistake, the Jockey Club and its stewards are feeling it. This sport has no future if a small, closed circle continues to control the Jockey Club, HISA, Breeders’ Cup, TOBA, NTRA, and even Keeneland. For the sake of the participants, the fans, and most importantly the American Thoroughbred, let’s hope this is the beginning of the end of the greed, the self-interest, and the incompetence. What do you think???

My first two letters to the @theTDN were written from the outside looking in. Now I’ve met with @jockeyclub reps firsthand, inspiring me to write “Strike 3,” which can be accessed at this link: bit.ly/4rAL62T #BelieveBig

A lot of people on DTC twitter are going to call BS, but I have met a lot of smart growth people over my career and most of them don’t even know what DTC twitter is, and of those, many of the best & brightest don’t even work at DTC brands. They work @ consumer AI companies.

In other news: I've left the Incubator to focus more fully on @trynokt Since resumes don't get you anywhere, I thought I'd make a post instead. I've built over a dozen businesses across hardware, SaaS, DTC, and marketplaces. This year, I’ve been hyper obsessed with the convergence of building great product and distribution. Wins I'm most proud of: - Launched my own company and scaled it organically and profitably - Built Influencer teams & systems that convert and are scalable - Helped advisory clients 3-5x their revenue through funnel/CRM(Push/email)/payments optimizations NOKT has been a masterclass in distribution. We've grown organically until August, focusing on a range of strategies; college UGC, AI UGC, faceless content, slideshows, influencers, and affiliate blogs. I even went viral with 100M+ views on a show while promoting the brand. You name it, we probably tested it. While I'm building NOKT, I'm also in the market for fractional / consulting roles where I can help other founders crack product or growth. If you're building in e-comm or consumer apps (or just want to chat), my DMs are open.

Thank you @SBJ and Ben Fischer. I’ve loved sports and business since I was a kid. To be able to spend my life building, competing, and chasing greatness in both is something I never take for granted. Winning a Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks, helping @StJohnsBBall chase a Final Four, building the @TheUFL into a sustainable and exciting league, and pushing to transform horse racing for the better… that’s what drives me every day!!!!! THINK BIG, DREAM BIGGER. And my favorite quote in the article… “This guy is so unlikable it’s almost impressive.” 😂😂🤣 Enjoy the article.

The best supplement for sleep by far is saffron. 15mg in the evening. Better than magnesium Better than inositol or apigenin Better than melatonin But so few people know this. And the longer you use saffron, the better your sleep becomes.

Personalized peptide stacks could become as normal as vitamins. Andrew Huberman on where supplements are heading: "In five years you and I are going to have a little cocktail. It's going to be one injection or one pill." "Whatever I need to ramp up my dopaminergic system a little bit to make sure I'm getting enough micronutrients. Maybe I'm gonna put a little Klotho in there to protect me against Alzheimer's." "All of that stuff is going to be commonplace. The same way that people are not afraid of vitamin D or they're taking some creatine or magnesium." "I think most everyone is going to be doing that." @hubermanlab @daisydwolf

A new randomized, double-blind trial found that taking omega-3s daily for 3 months significantly improved stress, anxiety, depression, sleep quality, and everyday memory in adults with severe psychological distress. A simple daily intervention (500mg EPA and 250mg DHA) improved nearly every psychological measure the researchers tested.

I recommend to all of my health optimization patients to take at least 2 grams, up to 4, of high-grade pure omega-3s daily. The majority of the over-the-counter brands are loaded with toxins and many are rancid by the time you take them. As a result, I prescribe the omega-3s as a prescription and they cost about the same as the OTC choices but are pure, much stronger and definitely safer. If you’re not taking an omega-3 you’re doing yourself a disservice! Also, on your next labs, have your doctor order an omega 6:3 ratio. You should be in the 1:1 to 4:1 range. Most Americans are 18:1 to 25:1 range, which is super inflammatory secondary to the seed oils loaded with omega 6s. Consume more omega 3s and less omega 6s and your body will thank you!
FoundMyFitness Clips@fmfclips

Taking around 2 grams of omega-3s per day might be one of the highest-ROI habits for lifespan and cardiovascular protection At that dose, most people can move their omega-3 index from ~4% to ~8%, a range associated in observational studies with about a 5-year increase in life expectancy and ~90% lower risk of sudden cardiac death Omega-3s also support brain function and mood, with clear benefits for depression and cognition Yet nearly 90% of Americans fall short of recommended EPA and DHA intake Few interventions this impactful are this easy

M5 Max is faster than M3 Ultra for many MLX benchmarks (prefill 2x, decode for MoEs despite having lower memory bandwidth). Like I said Apple makes the best consumer hardware on the planet. The future of AI feels increasingly hybrid edge + cloud.
Max Weinbach@mweinbach

From my testing, M5 Max is better than M3 Ultra in a lot of AI workloads on MLX. Can be up to 98% faster on some models. M5 Max has half the number of GPU cores, it’s the new GPU IP and neural accelerators. M5 Max is insanely good.

i’ve been testing the new M5 MacBook Air for the last 24 hours and… no notes. this is the quintessential MacBook most people should get. the base model is pricier than last year but it comes with double the storage. boring? yes, but it’s the default. 🤷‍♂️
