@jcolesimpson That's insanely cheap. You might have gotten the deal of the century, I don't know of any chef/aspiring chef that would ever do it for such a low price.

Hiring a Private Chef could net you 100k this year
Here's how my wife and I are doing it
Cost:
We agreed to pay 250 a week, which includes groceries
That puts us at 13,000 a year
We were already spending at least $100 a week for groceries so true cost puts us at
7800 a year
Savings:
Currently my wife and I eat out an average of 8-10 times a week (4-5 times each)
Realistically we think this will take that number down to 2-4 times a week
6 meals a week at 20 dollar a meal puts us at $120 a week
Saving us $6240 a year
Which takes our true cost down to $1560 a year
Time saved:
By taking this off of our plates we are saving hours a week
We calculated 2 hours a week for grocery shopping
30 minutes a day for having to go buy lunch
90 minutes a day for food prep and cooking dinner
That comes out to about:
12 hours a week for my wife
6 hours a week for me
Even without the financial component this is an easy decision
$1600 a year to get back 18 hours a week, I value our time much more than that
Reinvest time:
My wife's income is much easier to calculate because she has an hourly rate (about $100 an hour)
If she simply does her job instead of doing what she's currently doing (she enjoys her job more I might add) that will put an extra $62,400 in our pocket
This doesn't account for performance bonuses which she receives based on number of patients etc
We expect she will be able to see and extra 25 patients a week, or 100 patients a month, which will result in a 1500 a month bonus (on the low end) so that brings our total to $80,400 on my wife's reinvested time
I unlike my wife, don't get paid by the hour, but have "out earned" her for the last 3 years
However we will calculate my time at 75 an hour to be conservative
At 6 hours a week this put my extra earning at 23,400 a year
Putting our joint total at $103,800
Conclusion
After we deduct our true costs this puts our total at $102,240
Thats how hiring a private chef will make me at least 100k this year
I bet we will make much more
Should you hire a private chef?

@philipcurryo Took about a year and half, I only had a goal of $10k/MRR, with referrals the business took off naturally. I think literally anyone can do it with a good product-market fit and consistency
English

@sama_xyz Really cool! Was it hard to get to those numbers?

Am I wrong?
Or is 99% of #buildinpublic community SAAS?
Where are all the boring companies? The agencies? The service based companies?
The un-scaleable companies?
Where you hiding? I wanna follow you!

I get hashtags can come off as cringe, but they also support and amplify movements, like they did w/ #BLM in 2020.
Yes, for keyword SEO its completely pointless, but for movements and dialogue on certain topics, clicking hashtags in any tweet instantly open up a stream of conversations on said topic. That is pretty valuable.

@philipcurryo A range of social media marketing services––Namely building personal brands, performance marketing campaigns, launching album releases for Hip Hop artists, managing and building a couple celebs and influencers. Nothing out of the ordinary tbh. All work was through referrals
English

@sama_xyz Wow, not bad! What kind of service did you provide?

Update on my viral @Webflow tweet:
Vlad & team reached out to resolved the issue.
According to them, it was all a big mistake.
I've since removed the tweet, but I appreciate everyone's help in getting it out there so quickly. ✌️
Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else.

OpenAI is taking their first step towards AI agents 👀
They're calling them "GPTs"
You can build a GPT (a customized version of ChatGPT) for almost anything.
It can have instructions, expanded knowledge, and actions, and then be published for others to use.
You can program a GPT with language, just by talking to it. It's easy to customize the behavior so that it fits what you want.
It makes building them very accessible and gives agency to everyone.
I'm so excited for this.

@theisaacmed That really sucks. If I had to guess, its opportunity costs. They'd rather have users stay on TikTok for as long as possible––unless it's a paid campaign for App Installs.

I was honestly planning to have an easy time scaling my app with cheap TikTok distribution.
But I just learned that TikTok's in-app browser has banned all links to the app store.
This means that links in bio are basically useless for apps.
Why is TikTok so hostile to creators?
I am probably going to pivot to other video platforms, because they aren't as blatantly hostile.

I recently launched a mobile app after being an ecomm founder for the last 2 1/2 years. It feels significantly easier to run/scale than ecomm. There are less variables to worry about. Even the way taxes work favors tech. Really excited to scale this next year.

@AaronSage It’s false advertising / Deceptive marketing IF they don’t deliver on the offering made. To my understanding, they *will* deliver, so don’t see any FTC violations, fraud going on here. My 2 cents, don’t own any either.
