I have not changed my last name after marriage. Husband is totally comfortable with that, never raised it even once. Not a talking point ever at home. Not ever between us, before marriage.
The issue is not the change in the name but the nature of the person making a fuss. Better not to get married to a guy like this. Insecure. Avoidable. Controlling. A woman shouldn’t have to erase her identity simply because she is getting married. It is about choice. Whatever makes her comfortable. Making fuss about surname is an early alert. And honestly Ivy League or IIT tags are no markers of emotional security. Nor are salaries.

In India, inter-caste marriage is not easy. But the reason here was not what you think. Both are well educated. The guy is from the Ivy League earning 1Cr+, and the girl is from IIT earning 70L. The issue the guy raised was very weird. I don’t think you’ve heard this before. The girl did not want to adopt his surname after marriage. Fair enough. But this is where things got interesting. The guy was ready to drop the entire marriage conversation just because of this. So we tried to understand his reasoning deeply. And what he said next actually blew my mind. Let’s break it down from scratch. In India, it’s been simple. After marriage, the woman takes the man’s surname. The child takes the father’s surname. One straight line. No confusion. Now enter a different scenario. Two people marry. The woman does not change her surname. First problem. The man is already uncomfortable. Second problem. What happens when they have a child, Whose surname will the child take. If the child takes both surnames, it becomes long, messy, and honestly most people feel it looks weird. If the child takes the father surname, then what was the point of the mother not changing hers. And this is where the real conflict comes in The man logic was simple. If you believe in equality, why should only I adjust on this. And the reverse almost never happens. A man is not going to take the woman’s surname. So what exactly changed - And this is where things get messy. Because this is not just about a name. It’s about identity, ego, equality, family expectations, and legacy all mixed together And yes, the guy actually walked away from the marriage conversation because of this one issue. Let that sink in - In India, arranged marriage is not just about two people liking each other. It’s about caste, family, surname, identity, legacy, and a hundred invisible expectations People think inter-caste marriage is the hard part, it’s not. The real problem starts after that. And most people don’t even realise it until they are in it.

त्याला सुरेश धसच्या मुलाच्या लग्नात जायला वेळ आहे.

१९४८ मध्ये याच लोकांमुळे सर्वस्व गमावलेला ब्राम्हण त्यातूनही सावरला, टिकला, पुन्हा पुढे गेला हे या लोकांना बघवत नाही.
स्वतः हे भिकेला लागलेले असतातच.

भीमराव कांबळे या 60 वर्षाच्या नराधमाने 4 वर्षीय निष्पाप मुलीचा बलात्कार करून खून केला आहे. ही घटना जातीय विद्वेशातून स्पष्टपणे झालेली दिसून येते. लहान मुलीचे आई वडील हे ब्राम्हण आहेत हे नाईलाजाने विषद करावे लागत आहे. आरोपी पे रोल वर बाहेर आला होता. महाराष्ट्र राज्यात काही राजकीय पक्षाच्या कार्यकर्त्यांसहं ब्रिगेड बामसेफ या चळवळीतले कार्यकर्ते उघड ब्राम्हण द्वेष गेले अनेक वर्ष पसरवत आहेत. पण सकल हिंदू ब्राम्हण समाज स्वतःच्या व्यक्तिगत जीवनात व्यस्त आहे. ब्राम्हण समाजात निष्णात वकील, जजेस, कर्तव्यदक्ष पोलीस अधिकारी, उद्योजक व राजकीय लोकं असताना एका गरीब पुरोहित्ताच्या मुलीवर ही वेळ येणे याला 100% जातीय विद्वेष कारणीभूत आहे. व अगदी 100 वर्षांपासून याला आळा नं घातल्याने विशेषता इतक्या वर्षात काहीही नं केल्याने ही वाईट परिस्थिती ओढवली आहे. बरं हे फक्त ब्राम्हण समाजाचे सोबत एक आरोपी करणार आहे का? हे प्रत्येक समाजाचे सोबत होऊ शकतं. प्रशासन व पोलीस व्यवस्था या आरोपीनी अस्मानी साहित्य वाचलं आहे का? याचा तपास करेपर्यंत देशात मार्च नंतर दुसरे बलात्कार, हत्या होतात. वाकड्या बुद्धिचे राजकारणी यांनी सन 1999 पासून राज्यात जातीयवादी भाषण करणाऱ्या संघटना निर्माण केल्या. त्यातून खोट्या फेसबुक पोस्ट, खोटा इतिहास, पिवळी पुस्तक निर्माण झाली. हिंदू मध्ये देखील ब्राम्हण समाजाबद्दल रोष पसरला. एके ठिकाणी मार्च नंतर हिंदू समाज जिहाद्याच्या हल्ले, रेप, लव्ह जिहाद अशा समस्याना तोंड देत असताना जातीयवादी मानसिकता कुठे पोचली आहे पहा. लोकं एकमेकांशी जातीयवादी भांडण करत आहेत व राजकीय लोकं मनुवादी म्हणून राजकारण करत आहेत. या विद्वेशातून हे अशा गोष्टी होत असतात. भीमराव कांबळे ची जेल मधली संगत तपासण्याची गरज आहे. जर सकल हिंदू समाज व विशेषतः ब्राम्हण या जातीयवादी विद्वेशाबद्दल हातावर हात घालून गप्प बसले. त्यांनी जातीय विद्वेष्याच्या तक्रारी केल्या नाहीत. साहित्य व विद्वेषपूर्ण भाषणावर बंदी घातली नाही तर भविष्यात कोरेगाव भीमा दंगली सारख्या दंगली होतील व समाजाला बाजूला करून हल्ले केले जातील याची सर्वसामान्य जनतेसोबत शासनाने दखल घ्यावी. बरं यात फक्त ब्राम्हण नाही तर सरसकट टार्गेट हे गरीब असंघटीत लोकं झालेले असतील. सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम करणाऱ्या व पादरे कार्यक्रम करणाऱ्या मंडळापेक्षा सामाजिक उपक्रम म्हणून खटले दाखल करणारे संघ हे धार्मिक संत परंपरा सन्मान करणाऱ्या व इतिहासप्रेमी नागरिकांनी तयार करावेत म्हणजे अशा कृत्याला आळा घालता येईल. मुलगी 4 वर्षाची होती व ती जिवाने गेली म्हणून या घटनेचा रिपोर्ट झाला. नाही तर मूळमुळीत पणे तक्रार नं देता आपण कोणाच्या अध्यात मध्यत नको अशी संस्कृती म्हणून गप्प बसायला व बसवायला अनेकांनी कमी नसतं केलं. इतके लुक्के संस्कार आपण स्वतःवर करून घेतले आहेत. यातून प्रत्येकाला बाहेर पडायची गरज आहे. येणारा काल कठीण आहे त्यासाठी स्वतः कायदेशीर दृष्ट्या सक्षम होऊन आपले संघटन मजबूत करा. भीमराव कांबळे ही एक प्रवृत्ती 1999 नंतर घरोघरी पोचवायचा कार्यक्रम ज्यांनी केलेला आहे त्या जातीयवादी संघटनाच्या मुळावर घाव घालण्याची गरज आहे. हिंदू मधील प्रत्येकाने आपल्या घरातील महिला, लहान मुली यांना याबाबत सिरीयस करावे. येणारा काल हा धर्म पाहून असे हल्ले करणाऱ्या, जातीयवादी विद्वेष्याला बळी पडणाऱ्या नराधमांचा असल्यास तुमच्या घरातील अबलांचे बळी जातील व तुम्ही निषेध करण्यापालीकडं काहीच करणार नाही याची खात्री आहे. हा मेसेज आपल्या आप्त स्वकीयास पाठवा. ऍड. हृषीकेश जोशी. कर्जत रायगड. मो. 9673894005 @DGPMaharashtra @PunePolice @Dev_Fadnavis @ShelarAshish
