Today, I flagged off Eid items for our comrades in prison ahead of tomorrow’s Eid celebrations and later visited Luzira Women’s Prison and Luzira Remand Prison while other leaders visited the other prisons. Our duty to each other remains unwavering. Eid Mubarak 🕌📿

Today, together with fellow human rights defenders, @KobusingyeNora @PM_AKELLO @Mukosearnanth @MbabaziKeeza and counsel @kiizaeron, we attended the @ug_lawsociety ’s weekly press and public engagement, which focused on the recent landmark Constitutional Court Ruling that nullified the Computer Misuse (Amendment) Act, 2022. The engagement also celebrated 20 years of Nation Media’s excellence in Uganda. We must continue to assert our fundamental right and freedom to express ourselves freely including the right to offend, abuse and annoy especially those in power. We demand the immediate release of all Ugandans who are imprisoned or were sentenced under this unjust, illegal and unconstitutional law.

Before then, prayers were held for our comrades who are troubled by different forms of persecution. Grateful to all our members and leaders who are ensuring that all activities continue to take place despite the state of fear and intimidation. WE SHALL OVERCOME.

Its now clear that @UN and United States which imposed sanctions on Rwanda and M23 will now focus more on Ugandan politicians and businessmen, to trace the money connected and wired to M23 group.

Today for eight climate activists who have been on remand for over six months for peacefully challenging Stanbic Bank’s investment in the E. African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project have been re-remanded upto 10th Apirl because the the Judge wasn't around. It's so unfortunate
