@Charles_Y_Wu Amazing work, this would save so much time for redundant lab work! Are the agents supervised by anyone, how do they access diff machinery? Genuinely curious to see this scale across labs

@AlexanderKalian def agree, very imp point raised every model - even for 1 specific usecase - have used a diff dataset to prove their result, and there's no way to compare the results across models and find which actually works best unbiased.

The biggest bottleneck for AI in biology is the severe lack of high-quality data. This should be tackled with a major global program on the scale of CERN or the International Space Station - if not larger. We need a global network of fully automated, standardised labs running high-throughput assays 24/7, intelligently targeting critical gaps in biochemical and multi-omics data. All labs should use compatible equipment, methodologies, and control variables so that the resulting datasets are interoperable. Health and wellbeing are among humanity's most primal needs. It deserves this level of serious civilisation-scale investment. This is what it would actually take to give AI a real shot at optimising new drugs for cancer, accelerating anti-ageing research, decoding the genome, and more - rather than just drinking the Kool-Aid of oversold hype.

$HIMS $NVO $LLY 🚨 BREAKING: FDA PROPOSES TO EXCLUDE SEMAGLUTIDE, TIRZEPATIDE, AND LIRAGLUTIDE ON 503B BULKS LIST - $HIMS GLP-1 partners have been 503A pharmacies -- NOT 503B FACILITIES -- since the end of the shortage - FDA says there is no clinical need for 503B outsourcing facilities to compound these drugs from bulk substances - 503Bs cannot compound drugs using bulk drug substances unless the substance appears on the 503B bulks list

I've started writing my book: "Biology is a Burrito & Other Essays." It is an interactive and highly visual look into the beauty, speed, and complexity of a living cell. I'm planning to print hardcover books while serializing the essays online. The first essay is now available at burrito.bio. This was inspired by Stewart Brand's latest book, "Maintenance of Everything," which he developed in serialized form with @WorksInProgMag. One cool thing about that book was that he improved each chapter with reader comments before printing the physical copies! I'll be doing the same with this book. If you send me feedback that improves the text, I'll credit you online and in the final print version. You can also sign up to get email updates when a new essay launches. Hope you enjoy!

AI in Science does help in reviewing older papers, citing more diverse literature, and even broadens scope of participation from non-English native researchers. But does AI produce more "convincing research" just for faster approval? A briliant study by @ResearchHub 👏

ResearchHub Foundation@ResearchHubF

AI tools are making scientists more productive: those who use AI are publishing ~3x more papers and earning nearly 5x more citations. However, the authors of a recent @Nature paper note that this is also triggering a "paradox." They scanned 41.3 million papers and found that AI-augmented work tends to cluster in data-rich areas, covering 4.63% fewer topics and showing 22% less engagement between scientists. AI seems to be helping individuals win, but also narrowing the field. Full paper here: nature.com/articles/s4158…
