7 Every day in these camps is a denial of human dignity. They don’t need sympathy. They need the right to return, the right to heal, the right to exist in peace and safety. @EU_Commission @vonderleyen @Keir_Starmer — will you demand this?

What the G7 Should Demand As the G7 prepares to meet in Canada, its member states—many of which have deep bilateral ties with Ethiopia—should not let this moment pass unchallenged. They must ask hard questions of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed: What concrete steps has his government taken to ensure the safe return of IDPs in Tigray and other conflict-affected regions? What mechanisms are in place to hold perpetrators of wartime atrocities accountable? What is being done to guarantee non-recurrence and civilian protection moving forward? Beyond aid and investment, the international community must demand accountability, transparency, and inclusivity in Ethiopia’s post-war recovery. A Call for Moral Clarity The image of Ambassador Massinga speaking with IDPs, some of whom have not seen their homes since 2020, is a stark reminder of who remains voiceless in Ethiopia’s political theater. These are citizens not just of Tigray, but of Ethiopia—mothers, fathers, children—who deserve dignity, protection, and justice. Their suffering cannot be glossed over by diplomatic meetings in European capitals or selective narratives about national progress. Their return must not depend on economic cycles or international photo ops. History has shown us that wars end on paper, but peace is built in practice. Ethiopia’s displaced are still waiting for that peace—and the world must not look away. 2/2

10/10 ❗️Aid blocked. Civilians killed. Voices ignored. #Tigray cannot wait. The world must demand immediate action and protection. #UpholdPretoriaAgreement @SenWhitehouse @SarahChampionMP @UNESCO @AlokSharma_RDG 📍aje.io/1br23i
